noise those two can make. Supposed to go down to

It's snowing lightly now. Supposed to pick up as the day goes on. I'm debating going and getting a soda. I slept like crap. My mom got this pest spray that's peppermint based. She "didn't think it would be too potent" well, she was wrong, at least in my opinion. I guess I should feel lucky all it did was give me a horrible headache and I wasn't sick all night.

*for those that aren't keeping track of my weird allergy, I'm allergic to peppermint. Which my mom knows

We are a brisk -6 this morning with fresh snow on the ground.

I will gladly send the cold part to anyone who wants it.

Have a huge PDF file to evaluate on the new waiver system for DHHS.

So, guess what I will be doing for a few days. :(

Writing a report is not my strong point. :(

Wish me luck and a good eye.

If I am missing in action for several days, you will now know why.

Ugh..

Hope everyone survives the cold, the storms and whatever else life throws at you this week and weekend.

Morning. Yesterday was in the 50s. Today, the high will be 33 and cloudy with snow expected overnight into tomorrow.

Yesterday, I got hit with a stomach bug which rolled a little into today so I am home from work. Bossman may want me to try to come in tomorrow, weather pending. Yesterday was DHs birthday. I missed cooking him a nice dinner so I will make it up to him tonight. Saturday, he wants to go to a historic restaurant. I made lunch reservations as dinner is twice as expensive for what looks like the same menu.

I need to get school stuff done as it is due at midnight tonight. All I want is to sleep until Sunday.

My city hasn't approved skating on a body of water since 1996. This morning they opened a small lake near my house because the ice has reached 12". The biggest ice situation since 1996.

The fire stations are offering free road salt to individuals. Max 2 buckets per person. People are waiting in line for 2+ hours and then it runs out. Road salt is not available in stores any more. A hardware store that says they usually sell 3-ish pallets per winter has sold over 60 pallets this winter already.

The officials are calling what's coming in here a "significant, historic event".

We may get 3 inches.

But a half inch can shut us down.

Nope.  Just piles of dirty ice.  Car accidents, trees down (because people hit them), bridges closed due to ice build up, intersections in residential neighbourhoods where people have been ice skating already.

Anyone with temps in the positive numbers can kiss my a$$. It is -2 today and was -10 overnight. It's not looking to get any better for a few days.

It's so cold the dog refuses to go outside. He hasn't peed indoors yet, but poops on the carpet in front of the door every morning. If I pick him up and take him outside he runs back in.

DH is at a professional development course in Arizona so I can't even snuggle up to him to stay warm. I think he and I are headed somewhere warm for spring break even if it's only for a few days.

Ha ha ha ha ha! Notices were just issued to home owners from the City. Home owners are to remove snow and ice from the sidewalks adjacent to their homes completely (not just a pathway) before 10am each day. Or a fine will be issued. OR THE CITY WILL DO IT FOR YOU AND CHARGE YOU!

Bwaaaaaa ha ha ha ha! The city can't keep the residential streets from turning into literal ice rinks or the intersections safe for people and cars, but the RESIDENCES will be FINED if the snow and ice aren't cleared by TEN IN THE MORNING!!

Oh. And in that bottom picture, where you think you see road? You're seeing 3" of ice that you can see through to the pavement.

So when I woke up this morning I was still really congested. I figured I would work at home, and if feeling better would go into the office for 11. Started working at 5:30, I was kept hopping all day, no chance to take a shower or drive to the the office. Worked 12 hours. So done with stupid whiny people.

I did the stupidest thing.

I needed eggs, the dry beans I couldn't the other day, and buns.

You'd think the world was ending.

I was noticing people's carts.

The single guys were getting hot pockets, pizzas, cereal type things.

Single women, fruit, salad stuff, some soups.

Families were loading up on everything else.

But there was one woman, pretty much cleared a shelf of all the chicken noodle soup.

People are so funny.

Before a storm here, the bread, milk, and booze are the popular items.  Since we have a lot of storms I just want to yell " did you eat all the bread and drink all the beer you bought two days ago?"

Right?

Around here, it's generally over in a day or two.

People flip out like they will never get another milk sammich again.

We call it French Toast time - milk, bread and eggs. We may get a coating up to two inches. You would think we were going to get a foot by the way the news is making it out to be. I swear they over-hype it on purpose.

And speaking of snow, why do they always seem to be out of shovels with many people looking for a new one? It's not like it rarely snows here. It happens every year, sometimes several times a year. What did they do with the shovel from the last time it snowed?

People here lose their minds when a drop of rain falls. Snow would shut everything down. I remember when it graupeled a few years back. It was HUGE news. The bickering back and forth between the native Arizonans and the transplants over the difference between graupel and snow was priceless.

Tried that. He moves them away from the door and poops on the rug. Luckily his poop is pretty solid and picks up easily.

So laughing at this. If Sonny doesn't poop in the morning take out before work, I know if he poos during the day when we are gone, it is hard when we get home and an easy clean. oh how us dog owners have set the bar low.

I think the biggest concern is the ice.

We tend to have ice more than snow.

Then there is the lack of machinery to deal with the snow.

I think there are 7 in the whole state of Georgia.

I know my county shares with another.

Our winter weather plan is not to have winter weather.
