It's cold, 25...with wind chill in the teens. But, no snow yet.

I have to head to airport to pick up my sister.

Our school system made the call last night to be closed today.

The radar is telling a different story today.

Snow above us, rain below us, and we are dry.

But it's cold.

I made it in. Took 30 minutes to go 5 miles. We were supposed to get a dusting. We have over 2 inches and its still coming down, no end in sight. Total of 5 cars in the parking lot. I should have stayed home. But I'll leave early...

Woke up to 23 degrees - plus freezing rain, making stairs
treacherous. Texans (in my area at least) don't know how
to drive on ice (or even wet pavements). Don't have to go
out until after one, and then it will only be local.

Tomorrow, we've been warned of 10 degrees. I moved
3,000 miles to get away from this weather! Grrr.

We had about 2 inches of snow this morning. Temps are going to 34 so everything is melting. Only to have highs of 29 over the next couple days. Which means everything will freeze again. And it is supposed to snow again tomorrow.

Missine one deadline for school already. It will be turned in today. It was due at midnight last night. Not the end of the world but not the way I wanted to start off.

It stopped snowing about 20 minutes ago.

The next band should be coming through about the time Jesse gets off work tonight. Around 10pm.

Have the day off as a comp day from NY coming on the weekend. Spending the day deep cleaning my bedroom and bathroom including closets, dressers, etc. Such a chore but I know it will be worth it when I am done.

Stay safe everyone. Remain indoors, hunker down and hibernate until the storm is over.

I learned something new. At work, we are not allowed to leave our vehicles running while unattended. You know, like pushing the nice remote start button on my keys. Nope. Not allowed, even though that's exactly what it's designed for. Just have to deal with the cold and snow and ice.

I took Jesse to work and drove around a bit.

The roads are dry.

it also sucks because I had started my car in preparation to leave. And I was parked next to president, who saw my running car. I was on my way to shut it off since he had just seen another car running from his window and "reminded" us we aren't allowed to start our cars (never mind that no one but him knew that rule). Just the capper on the week I have dubbed the "DG does nothing right" week

 Why is it against the law? I don't have a remote start, but I really don't need one. I have a garage plus a parking garage at work.  Oh and a heated steering wheel and heated seats. biggrin

It's against the law to leave a running car unattended. The car could potentially pop into gear and run amuck. While that is a slim enough possibility with the keys in the ignition, it's even slimmer with remote start. I can't shift into gear without turning the key one. It's an outdated regulation.

My dad offered to go get Jesse, the store is closing early.

It'll snow like crazy for about 5 minutes, and then stops completely.

It's almost like a faucet being turned on and off.
