Would you plan a vacation around food?

If so, which food?

I'd love to do a BBQ trip and then a seafood trip.

Food network has a list of places thats been on their shows.

At one time, there was an app that could calculate and plan trips around those places.

OMGoodness! I'd love to take a trip where I could
have all the sushi/shashimi and other Japanese
delights I could want! I've not seen a lot of Japanese
people who are overweight. I'd love to duplicate
their eating habits.

Heck yeah. Without food, we die. What a good way to honor it.

I'm totally thinking about it.

Maybe in a year.

All the kids will be out of high school, working and doing their thing.

Gotta find someone to with me.

Why don't you go by yourself? The preference to be social doesnt matter. If you want to go, go. No matter whether it will change your experience. Don't let the need to have companions hold you back. Why wait?

 Aren't you cute?

Or at least you think you are.

I would go alone if I wasn't disabled and sometimes need help getting dressed, standing at times.

Driving can be difficult when I can't turn my head.

There is a difference in having a craving for something and not getting it because you're too paranoid to get take out alone, and taking a two week road trip to places you've never been for the purpose of trying foods.

I pick up take out for myself here at home.

I take myself to restaurants all by myself if I want something no one else wants.

You don't like that I don't stroke your paranoid ego.

I take myself out, alone, here, in my home town.

You really need to grow up.

My dad did a French cruise a few years ago. They had over 200 kinds of cheese. He said he tried about half. Didn't want to eat cheese a long time after that.

LOL, I guess not.

I think I'd like to find someone from an area and take me to the regular people places.

The little holes in walls.

The places they go for lunch during a work day.

The hidden gems.

We ate and drank our way through Italy. Never a bad meal. Stay away from the bread though. It's wonderful, but fills you up. I would love to go back.

Speaking of little hole in the wall places, I had the best Greek food at a little place in Tarpon Springs, Florida over 25 years ago. You had to go down an alley to get to the restaurant which was more of a small market/deli with 3-4 tables. I could not tell you where it was or what the name of it. But my mouth drools just thinking about it.

Worst part is I cannot go back and ask the person who took me there about the place. It was an ex-boyfriend.

I had an amazing seafood experience like that.

We were in Jekyll, I was 15, and we asked the maintenance guy at the campground we were staying at where to get some good seafood.

He sent us to a little store front in a strip.

It was across the road from where the boats docked.

Prawn the size of a hot dog, flounder, crab, shrimp, shrimp, and more shrimp.

It was all you could eat and they brought it out on huge platters.

It was so fresh, a mouth full of ocean.

Yes the food is amazing in Italy 🇮🇹 Found a family owned Italian restaurant in Sonom,ca. That is so close to the food in Italy.

I had Indian food in private homes in India 🇮🇳 real good food but it doesn't like me to much.

I do, too, but it did keep me from being able to enjoy other aspects of the meal! And they charge you for it, too. They will bring it automatically so you think it's included like it is in the U.S.

They don't actually eat sushi as often as people think.  It's expensive over there, too.  But they eat alot of rice and regular fish.  The main good habit, though, that helps with the weight thing is the amount of soup.  If you have soup before your meal, you are less likely to overeat b/c it makes you feel fuller faster.

And they are also not as healthy as people think.  Lots of fried stuff, noodles, and alcohol.  The biggest difference is they don't eat sweets like we do.
