Saw a commercial for IHOP AYCE pancakes, and I'm thinking, maybe 3, which is an average side of pancakes they add to just about all their breakfast dishes.
A short stack.
Wings, about 6, depends on the type. Not a buffalo anything kind of eater, but love the BBQ.
Pizza, about 4 of the super thin crust slices, 2 of anything else.
Shrimp, depends on size and how they are made.
Scallops: until I'm sick.
Crab legs, I generally get tired of cracking them and decide I've had enough, about 6.
Ribs, I'll order a rack if I'm starving, but usually a half is all I can handle.
Can't think of anything else.
What about ya'll?
What else is AYCE?

There is an AYCE tourist trap restaurant in Myrtle Beach that has the best scallops.
Steamed, broiled, fried, pan seared.
I filled my plate and realized that was all I had, so I grabbed a couple hush puppies.
I swear, I can eat those things til I'm sick.

There is a restaurant in East Orange, NJ that has the
most marvelous AYCE buffet every Friday. The stars
of their show are lobsters and prime rib - and the
service is outstanding! Well worth the price. You
start off with peeled shrimps, clams, oysters, all
sorts of fancy finger sandwiches, 3 kinds of soup,
then come the carving stations of lamb, prime rib,
and pork loin. The lobster station offers either a
complete broiled or steamed lobster half, or just
the tails, or claws, or any other part you want.
The pastry chef must be the happiest person at
the restaurant, because everything looks like it
came from a photo-shoot for Gourmet Magazine
or the Food Network. And the wait staff were
all in tuxedos - but not in the least bit stuffy.
The name of the restaurant is "The Manor", and
it is absolutely necessary to obtain reservations.
I hosted my Aunt and Uncle's 50th Anniversary
party there, and the food and service were
impeccable. And they gave us so much more
than I had contracted for. The champagne was
iced, not in standard silver buckets, but in giant
clam shells. They added a "palate cleanser" of
burgundy sorbet, presented in orange shells,
nestled in ice blocks with mini LED lights in the
bottom. Ahh, the happy memories!
I rarely ever get an "All you can eat buffet". Usually isn't worth the money for me. So, we rarely do that. However on the occasion that i do, i focus on eating the main thing. Be it seafood, steak, etc. I can fill up on salad at home, so i go for the gold! lol
