It's been a long night of heavy rain and strong winds.
Taking Aaron to school might be interesting since we go over or pass several creaks, streams, ponds, and lakes.

The water is up, but it all seems to be staying inside its banks.
But it's very muddy and moving swiftly.
Other than some twigs, the road is clear.
The biggest I saw was about a foot long, maybe as big around as a kid's arm.

Late to this thread, wet and dreary Monday. No sun since last week. We are supposed to get pounced with heavy wind and rain this afternoon. That should make for a fun commute!
Today is a sad day for me. A friend has just been sentenced to do time and I am crushed. She has two kids that elderly mom is going to have to take care of for the next year. I am just so sad.

I think good behavior was already taken into account in the situation. It is a long drawn out story and looking back she feels like an idiot for not seeing what was going on till all done and she was out, but when you are dealing with ptsd and therapy for you and kiddos, it is hard to see a snake using you the way she got used. The short of it is that she got caught up in felony ponzi scheme. The guy that orchestrated it even caused his own elderly parents to do time as well. The whole thing is just so heartbreaking. She has two teens and has no idea how her elderly mom is going to be able to support them while she is away. Ugh. Today is just such a sad day.
Watching our weather and the numbers and other evidence says we had what was basically a cat 1 hurricane go over us last night.
I kept saying that's what the radar looked like last night.
How crazy is that?

Yep. I have the high winds and snow, not a lot of snow, but it may ice up by the morning.
This storm brought our temps down significantly.
We went from 2 weeks of temps in the 70s to 40 in an hour.

I'm still reading. This stupid book is giving me nightmares, seriously, I have dreamed about being in a war zone fire fight both nights I've read it. It's by 2 former Navy SEALs. They actually have good insights and advice, just way too heavy on the war stories for my liking.
Yes, it's the book for work. It's a book about management skills. Our president believes in looking to the military for management strategies. And really, if they would cut down (not completely out) the war stories, it would be, in my opinion, a much better book. I'm really enjoying the concept sections and the business application sections. He warned me it was more of a "guy book", I shall soldier on (pun intended)

I liked Who Moved My Cheese. My favorite business book, Raving Fans, shares an author with it.
