A high school teacher has been placed on administrative leave after a video on social media showed her squirting a water gun at an image of President Donald Trump while yelling 'Die!'.

Payal Modi, who teaches art at W. H. Adamson High School in Dallas, Texas, is under investigation by the school district after an eight-second video surfaced on Instagram,WFAA reported.

Modi could be seen aiming and shooting a colorful toy gun at an image of Trump, which was projected on a whiteboard, while repeated yells 'Die!' could be heard in the background.

Payal Modi, who teaches art at W. H. Adamson High School in Dallas, Texas, is under investigation by the school district after an eight-second video (above) appeared on Instagram

The video was reportedly posted on Modi's personal Instagram account on the day of Trump's inauguration, the Washington Times reported. 

The caption stated: 'Watching the #inauguration in my classroom like…. #no #stop #denial #squirtgun #hypocrisy #powerless.' 

It is unclear whether whether the voices heard in the background were that of her students. 

Modi soon drew the attention of critics - and despite changing her Instagram account to private before deleting it entirely, the video continued to circulate on YouTube.

People also rallied against her on social media and circulated the school district's phone number to encourage people to lodge complaints against her. 

The Dallas Independent School District placed Modi on administrative leave and issued a statement that said: 'Today, we were made aware of a social media posting being circulated involving a teacher at W. H. Adamson High School.

'The teacher has been placed on administrative leave and the district has opened an investigation. This is a personnel matter and, as such, we cannot comment.'

Public records show Modi was hired by the school district in August 2014.

You know those rules about teachers not teaching religion? I think that should extend to teachers not teaching political bias.

I'm sure she will get a visit from someone from ss. I don't care who is President that kind of action is just plain stupid and she deserves her teaching privileges be permanently taken away.

Well she didn't Lily, she got suspended, as lenient as a sentence it is it's still something. Along with other articles posted here,teachers are getting suspended/fired all over the place.

So again, WHY keep doing it? So dumb.

 They should only be able to teach the rules and constitution  and such about politics.  Glad she was suspended, My thought is she will lose her job.

 I so agree with this.  I have a FB friend, one from my middle school years, who is a teacher, and very liberal.  She has PM'd me asking for an explanation on some Trump policies and her reception of the explanation was taken gladly. I think she is open minded . She has actually thanked me for my views and the reminder that most of the things she has read on liberal news sites are fake news.  She admitted to it. It is refreshing to have a liberal interested in learning the side of conservatives.
