I get to start a thread!😀 Had my grandson spend the night last night for the first time👶 He slept all night and woke up happy as a lark. Hope everyone is having a good mornin.
Just cleared last night's storm off the driveway and cleared more out from in front of my mail box. 12"+ coming in tomorrow night. I have to pick up more pet friendly salt for the driveway and get the groceries today. I want to have an afternoon to put my snow shoes on and get out in the fresh air!

Getting the car washed then I need to go get some blood tests done. I've been putting them off for months. But I need to just do them and accept I need to take medication. Stressing about it isn't helping, just need to accept the fact and do it.
Then I get to help my mother take down the Christmas tree. Yep, in February. She says she "can't do it alone". Which is not true. She can. She doesn't want to. She wants me to do it. She is retired. She spends her days napping and going to lunch with her friends - oh and there was the 2+ week vacation. But no, let's make DG do it on a rare day off (which I was actually going to go to work). Sigh. Rant over.
And, I have to take Paul to the eye doctor for testing.
(When he had his yearly appointment 6 months ago, his pressures were high. They did a scan, and it's looking like, at the tender age of 21, he probably has glaucoma. We'll rerun that test, and do a couple more tests. We should know for sure, this afternoon.)
We took all our stuff down and finally got it into the attic 2 weeks ago.
But this past Wednesday realized we left a string of light up in the hall bathroom.
I don't know when or if it will get taken down.
FWM, hope those tests come back with good results.

I am thinking of re arranging the furniture in the living room. Haven't done that in a few years. My motivation is to have the dog prefer just one chair so as not to ruin every thing else. Currently my sofa is in front of the big picture window which he spend hours each day looking out, and breaking the sofa cushions. I am thinking of putting my two big comfy chairs in front of the window with the one chair that he likes having the best view. It may save my sofa.
DG I HATE de decorating. One reason why I don't decorate a tree anymore. Your mother needs to consider that.

That will never happen. Today I brought up 6 large storage totes for her to fill. And thats maybe a forth of all the decorations she owns
OMG. Now the people on the neighborhood message board have agreed that not driving your children to school when it is cold or raining is child endangerment.
Because the children have to stand outside for 5-10 minutes.
Quite a few parents have chimed in with "that's why I always drive my kids to school", implying that parents who don't drive their kids are terrible parents.
I drive my kids to school because, at first, I was able to do so.
Then I realized we would have to be up 5:30 to get them on the bus by 6:30 so they could be at school at 7. I was exactly 1 mile from the school. We could sleep til 7.
Then, after Caitlyn started high school, they changed district lines. She had the option to stay or go to the new school, she stayed.
Then when Jesse started, the new school did not have a special ed program up and running, so he went to the same high school.
Then, of course, I just sent Aaron to the same school as his brother and sister.

Ha! 25 minutes. I moved the furniture out of the living room, deep vac'd the floors and ceiling and heating baseboards, then buffed the floors and then moved the furniture back in. The crap I found! I really need to have a "come to J****" talk with the cleaning person. And the dog is just on the one chair I planned. He was anxious while I was changing things, he hates change, but he seems to be settling in.

Evenings like this, I wish we had a real fireplace.
It's damp and chilly.
All I want to do is nap.

Thanks, Lily.
His appointment is at 1pm.
We should know something, soon.
The new wasn't terrible.
It wasn't good, either.
The doctor will run the tests again, in August, when Paul has his yearly appointment.
He will probably start with eye drops then.
Well, it is what it is.
Hopefully, it won't get worse.

Aaron has been legally blind in his right eye since 6th grade.
Eyesight is precious.
I'll keep Paul in my prayers.

I'm sorry your husband has glaucoma fwm, it's sounds like you both are being proactive in getting treatment early.
Today is my baby boys 31st birthday. It is so hard to believe he is that old. It seems like yesterday that he was my little boy and now he is a grown man with a family of his own.

Thank you, Lily. Eyesight us precious.
This is pretty easy to treat. (Eye drops, are easy!)
We will be on top of it.
I appreciate your prayers.
(Please pray, for the folks who don't get their eyes checked, each year. If their pressures go up, and they go untreated... They are the ones, who end up blind.)
It's so sad. Glaucoma can be held in check. You just have to know that you have it.

Lindley, I have glaucoma.
And, our son Paul, at 21, well, he has it too.
(Wayne my husband, is fine. I've been being treated for the past 14 years, and, I'm good.)
Happy birthday, to your son!
I feel old, when I realize I have a child, who is 31. LOL!
No need to feel old FWM :) anyway, you LOOK super young!
I had a boring day. Spent two hours at the grocery store, an uneventful half hour at the "shy dog" section of the dog park. And now I'm just making dinner and watching tv.

Oh I'm sorry for my mistake 😔
No worries, Lindley.
I guess my advice would be," don't skip your yearly trip to the eye doctor"
Get those pressures checked, even if you don't wear glasses. (It's that Puff test, the one that everyone hates. Blowing that puff of air into your eye. Do it, no matter how much you hate it. It could save your sight.)
Glaucoma is a sneaky, silent, disease.
By the time you think something is wrong, it's too late.
I was lucky. My doctor caught it quick. I won't be going blind, any time soon.
I was sent to a special optometrist when I was diagnosed
with diabetes. Sure enough, I have glaucoma. But it was
detected in time, so all I had to do was have two laser
"punches" to relieve the pressure, and I'm within norms!
You can believe I now take advantage of the free screening
from my insurance.
Brr cold outside but had to take Sonny out to play and get exercise. Actually it was fun. His BFF always knows when I take Sonny out, He anticipates its and listens for my door to open. So Sonny got exercise. And now he is sleeping.
Glaucoma thing; that scares me. I do see the eye doc each year so hopefully I am covered.

Glaucoma is a "silent" disease - it has no symptoms, until
it is too late. Just like a mammogram, or a colonoscopy,
the "puff" test is your best defense.
I try to go yearly but when I went to the eye doctor a couple weeks ago, they told me it had been 3 years. Whew. Where did the time go? Anyway, they ran extra tests on me to see if I had any diseases (including diabetes) and they came back all clear. I decided to switch to contacts and my eyes are much clearer looking. They used to be bloodshot a lot. I guess wearing glasses (and not wearing them) was putting a strain on my eyesight. She said my prescription had only changed slightly.
At my eye doctors, they no longer do the "puff" test. They have a pen looking device that measures the pressure. Freaks me out more than the puff ever did. But it is more accurate, according to the research
I keep trying to get the picture of it to post. Sorry.
