A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
FWM: No worries! I'm excited to have a birthday twin on the board now!
Birthday was fun. Except for the allergic reaction I had at dinner. I'm allergic to a lot of perfumes and someone got sat nearby that had bathed in one I'm allergic to. I should've left when the itching started but stayed. Went outside once my throat started closing and had DH box up my food. I'm fine now. Just waiting for the ibuprofen to kick in so the residual headache will go away. Thankfully, my reactions to environmental allergens can usually be reversed by removing myself from the allergen's presence.
Happy Birthday Chef. Too bad about the reaction. I react to certain perfumes too but not as badly. My throat doesn't close but whew the headache. I hope your ibuprofen helped.
I feel fine today. Just ate my meal from last night. Well, half of it. I love Chili's' fajitas but the portion is large, I can only ever eat half. I was amused to discover that DH had carefully packed each "part" of the dish in its own space in the to go box.
I need to go back to that Chili's with a note and a proper tip for the server. I don't know her name but I'm sure they can figure out who was on staff at the time. My order had arrived wrong and our friend who was dining with us made entirely too big a deal over it. He opted to pay since it was my birthday and I don't know if he tipped properly or not. Chili's gives the option to get two different meats with the fajitas so I get 1/2 chicken and 1/2 carnitas. I got chicken and shrimp. I don't like shrimp but knowing I can only eat half of the dish anyway, I didn't care. I figured I'd save the shrimp for DS since he loves shrimp. DH loves shrimp too but can't do spice and these shrimp were too spicy for him. Friend insisted on telling the server about it in spite of my objections. I figure, I'll pop over and speak to the manager but also write her a note telling her that I absolutely did not care that there was a mistake and apologize for my friend making a big deal out of something that wasn't a big deal and include the tip she'd have gotten had it been DH and I paying.
Chef ~ That's probably why servers like waiting on you!
Aww thanks :) I try to be a bright spot in the server's day.
If I liked shrimp, it wouldn't have even been noticed beyond 'hmm ... those aren't carnitas' and certainly wouldn't have affected my experience or the server's tip. Unfortunately, while I like the flavor of shrimp, I do not like the texture and it gags me. But, if the shrimp is finely diced in a dish, it doesn't bother me one bit.
Update on Chili's: Our friend wasn't too harsh on the tip but did rag on my order being wrong. The manager was happy we stopped by. I assured both him and our server that I have zero complaints and, as far as I'm concerned, she (server) didn't do anything wrong.
