Twitter is in an uproar over a photo of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway sitting on a couch in the Oval Office with her feet tucked under her and her shoes on the sofa.
The now-infamous Associated Press photo shows the Oval Office packed with representatives from Historically Black Colleges and Universities while Conway looks her phone. Twitter users are split on the situation: some view her pose as a sign of disrespect; others say it’s not a big deal.
Wall Street Journal editor Bret Stephens tweeted: “If Rice or Jarrett had sat like this in Oval Office conservatives would have screamed themselves hoarse for weeks. Now we own trashy.”
Conway was the first successful female presidential campaign manager in history, but lately has been caught up in various scandals, including misspeaking about the details of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s resignation and being accused of an ethics violation when she promoted Ivanka Trump’s clothing line on Fox News during an interview on “Fox & Friends.”
Frequent TV appearances have resulted in Conway emerging as a household name who is frequently mocked on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” Many Conway defenders have pointed to various photos of President Obama with his feet on the desk in the Oval Office.

OK - now just for the record, I think the way she is sitting on that couch is horribly inappropriate for a meeting in the oval office. However, I think it's funny the uproar is over shoes on the couch when I don't actually see any shoes - how do they know she has shoes on?
There were lots of comments about how Obama constantly put his feet up on the furniture, but this comment is the one that cracked me up -
When it comes to someone being on their knees in the Oval Office this really isn't the most disrespectful episode if you think about it.
I told y'all you shouldn't be putting your shoes on the furniture!

I am sure a million photos could have been snapped with Obama and others lounging. However, Repos have to pay more attention to optics since they don't have the media lapdogs on their side.

There were. Lots of them. He continually used the Resolute Desk as his personal footstool.

OK, this pic shows the shoes. But, it also shows that it appears she was trying to stay out of the way of the camera going down the center of the room b/c when she is taking a pic, she has to lean in.

While I was not permitted to step into the Oval Office when I visited the White House, I did hold on to the walls and lean as far in as I could. I guess in hindsight that may have been considered tacky as well.
A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
Seeing the picture for the first time I was like "um what is she doing?". Then I saw the second picture and I was like "Oh... well ok then." But of course the next four years are going to have a permanent disgust spin on everything, so I am afraid ladies and gents, that we are gonna have to dig in with our patience.
I'm curious, all the fuss about how Trump was anti woman but the extreme women on the left put down and attempt to negate a successful woman in the Trump administration.
Why is that?
Don't they realize they are doing the exact same thing they accused Trump of?
It's ridiculous really.

No they don't realize it. Because they only believe what the liberal left tells them to believe and complain about.

NOBODY tells me what to believe...Unlike the Trump worshipers.

I really think the protocol issue is a hard pill for liberals to swallow. He is paving the path for real main stream people to run for the presidency by ridding the office of the same old protocol. I like it. We need non Pols in office.

This is just a ridiculous statement after your YEARS of Obama worship. Really. You must really enjoy saying such stupid, hypocritical things.

Considering how often Obama had his feet in inappropriate places on furniture, I really can't get upset over this.
Was it "less than lady-like"? Sure.
Was it "burn the disgusting bitch on a cross!!!"? No. Not even close.
How about the complainers take issue with something that Trump has done that's against the interests of the American people, or violates one of his campaign promises. Oh. Wait. I don't believe that he's done anything like that yet. Too bad to the Democrats. I guess they will just have to stick to manufactured outrage.

What concerns me is that this "manufactured outrage" grew feet and spread like a virus across the nation and on our campuses. THIS is how you end up with pvssy hats, safe spaces, triggered memes and melting snowflakes everywhere.
Yeah, right, dude. We know EXACTLY what you meant.
By Jessica Chasmar - The Washington Times - Thursday, March 2, 2017
Rep. Cedric Richmond says his awkwardly delivered joke during a media dinner Wednesday night about Kellyanne Conway being on her knees in the Oval Office was not meant to be sexual.
The Louisiana Democrat sparked outrage on social media and conservative news outlets after he cracked a joke at the Washington Press Club Foundation’s annual awards dinner about the controversy surrounding Mrs. Conway kneeling on the Oval Office couch.
Republican Sen. Tim Scott had earlier joked about the uproar by saying “a whole lot worse” had happened on that sofa in the 1990s, referring to former President Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky.
Mr. Richmond followed up the joke by saying, “I really just want to know what was going on there, because, you know, I won’t tell anybody. And you can just explain to me that circumstance, because she really looked kind of familiar in that position there. But, don’t answer, and I don’t want you to refer back to the 1990s.”
The joke, interpreted by many as crude, landed with a thud among the crowd. Mr. Richmond later clarified his intent in a statement.
“Since some people have interpreted my joke to mean something that it didn’t I think it is important to clarify what I meant, ” he said, The Washington Post reported. “Where I grew up saying that someone is looking or acting ‘familiar’ simply means that they are behaving too comfortably.”

BTW - it's been confirmed, she was sitting like that so she could get high enough to take pictures while staying as much out of the way of the cameras as possible.

Yes! And I loved the way she spun it...saying she is so glad to see that people are now concerned about respecting the Oval Office as they should be...and also said she is always amazed with what some people consider "news." She handled the question well.
A more important question for me, about that picture, is this: Where did he get all those black people? I thought blacks hate Trump and Trump hates blacks?
Isn't that one of the Mainstream News points? Between you and me, I think that's more fake news.
am wondering when the realization is going to dawn on the libs that: trump is president, he's doing what he said he'd do(or headed that way)and nobody else really gives a damn what the libs say/think?
