OK, never thought i would send a pet to "doggie daycare". However, i took her in for a nail trim the other day and decided to leave her in daycare to play with the other pooches. She came home absolutely exhausted, lol. And, it is good for her to socialize with other dogs, learn how to play gently, etc. But, the whole concept seems odd, lol!
I don't understand it, but it seems to be a growing business.

One of our ortho sales reps uses a doggie day care. When he has a long day he will call them and they go to his apartment and pick up poochie. They have a key and pick up other dogs in the complex as well. They will even bring the dog home later if he wants. Great idea for a business.
I never saw the need for dogs to interact with each other. Unless you were breeding them.
The dog trainers that i have met says it helps to socialize them. And it helps them with play. Puppies often bite too hard when playing. When they play with other dogs who nip back, they then learn to not bite so hard. So, that makes sense to me.
I do it when DH is on a trip and can't get home for lunch to let Aksel out. The dog could make it until I get home but if it's a long trip for DH, I prefer to let the dog get his exercise without me.

Our new Buddy does fine on his own, but his momma? When they put her into a foster home alone, she went berserk. They had to change her to one with other dogs.
