It broke my heart to see those precious little ones convulse from the saran gas.

This should have happened years ago. Obama's line is the sand was worthless. New sheriff is in town now.

Pray for our leaders and the safety of our troops.

More than 50 Tomahawks. Russian was notified prior to the strike.

Good for Trump and the US; no more let us play nice, etc.

Also, the timing is great. With China's Premier visiting this shows him that the US will not just talk, but will act. May give China a little more incentive to rein in North Korea.

Too bad this was necessary. Trump got it right that this was Obama's fault. Obama should have acted instead of talking.

I agree.  Glad the chemical weapons storage site was the target.

I understand that Russian army was notified prior to, so that no Russian or Russian equipment was lost in the attacks.

Sarin is a horrible debilitating nerve gas which doesn't allow much time for treatment. We received training on various weapons of mass destruction back in the day. Even now, if I see an empty bottle of clear liquid laying unattended, I hold my breath until I'm out of inhalation distance. Horrible, and I'm glad Trump is walking the walk.

And the belly aching by the left has begun. Pretty amusing that at about the same time as the air strike, Hillary was giving an interview and stated she would have bombed several targets.

clinton becomes more irrelevant as time moves along--this was a measured response--looking at the whole incident, the timing is the most remarkable--literally within the same hour that trump was meeting with the chinese leaders, the mission was launched--a not-so-subtle message to the chinese: "you need to take care of your boy in NK or we'll do it for you. "

masterful indeed

A post from someone that used to be on our boards... I must share it...

"No matter what you think about the bombing, you need to support our troops 100%.
One moment I wish we didn't police the world, in the next, watching the video of those children dying because Assad is a truly evil man... well, I think I want to go push the button my self. So, my feelings on it vary. However, I don't think any of us can say what we would have done. Playing Monday night quarterback to our government is never beneficial in situations like this.

You should also know this...
More than two dozen members of Congress were briefed on the strike prior to it happening. This wasn't a quick hit on the button. You really cannot go to the whole of Congress with something like this so that then they go to the press & Assad gets a memo... Clear out, they're gonna strike.

It's also important to know this...
Russia has a GDP LESS than the state of NY and will not attack us. They do not have the capacity. Besides, let's ask the Ukrainians what they think of Russia. China is another Syrian ally, but they have so much money invested in the USA that they will never even consider it. They would lose BILLIONS of dollars if they did. The UN is useless and doesn't do a damned thing for anyone in times of need. Yes, the UN should have jumped up and done something the moment that Assad launched a chemical attack against his own people -but they didn't, and they never do. And anyone else who could have been elected to be president likely would have done exactly the same thing.

The government has so much more information than we do. What we have done is put a big dent in Assads ability to hurt people. And aside from Russia & Syria, many world leaders have praised this decision. Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu said that Trump "Sent a strong and clear message" that "the use and spread of chemical weapons will not be tolerated." Australian Prime Minister said "This was a calibrated, proportionate and targeted response". Japans PM said he understood and supports the strategy. Turkey welcomed it and said it was an important and meaningful development and asked the world to take an even tougher stance on Assad.

I will pray for our soldiers, as I always do. But I will also pray that Assad wakes up and realizes how evil his actions are, I will pray that everyone who hurts another out of a power need will have an epiphany and change their ways. I pray for everyone who was hurt, who will be hurt, who lost someone, who will lose someone. I pray for our President, for our Nation, for every world leader & every nation."

There is one thing that sends off my spidey senses...the treatments they were giving those children in the videos....is not how you treat sarin. The way people were dressed....it's not how you treat sarin. There is something odd about this whole thing.

from some of the video footage appears that it MIGHT have been chlorine gas but more likely was sarin--unless it was VX in which case you'd have had a lot more fatalities, especially children and they would've died outright, then and there--more likely WAS sarin

So you think it was a weaker version of sarin, burns? It was my understanding that fatality is almost immediate with sarin, but my information (i.e., training on WOMD) is about 8 or 9 years old. I was wondering if it was chlorine. Sarin can be spread through clothing, and no one attempted to remove clothing, or cover their body better.

reviewing the footage i've seen it's somewhat inconclusive(was obviously not present for the attack)--if had been ONLY chlorine would not have had as many(aerosol related)deaths--if sarin only would have had a lot more--would appear to have been a mixed munitions attack(which also leads me to believe that using a nerve agent COULD have been a mistake)--we don't know who or how the munitions were chosen/loaded--we're not talking about a firstworld airforce here--on the other hand, could have been a deliberate attack styled to LOOK like a mistake--either way, would not consider it a full-on chemical attack as casualties would have been much more numerous

under current international law(as understood and accepted)it's not about the AMOUNT of chemical weapons used it's whether they were used at all

It is my understanding that the use violated a chemical weapons agreement. I wonder if he was conducting a test to see the impact it might have for a wider use.

if we were talking about a firstworld airforce(USA, Israel, Great Britain, France, etc.)then would conclude that the attack was deliberate--those sort of weapons(along with nukes, of course) don't MOVE without direct orders and several officers signing-off and certifying the weapon's transport/loading--just can't happen without proper authorization

in a BFE airforce like syria, their use COULD have been an oversight/mistake--whatever the case, assad is ultimately responsible

am not really concerned about WWIII--the nuclear powers on this earth are(for the most part)governed by(arguably in some cases)sane individuals/people

am more concerned about the potential havoc that could be wrought by radical muslims/jihadists/hezbollah/isis/isils, etc. getting their hands on nukes

radical groups have no qualms/conscience about the catastrophic loss of life and damage inflicted by even small nuclear weapons--their ultimate goals are terror and death to many of us--and to many innocents

to my mind, their radical, intolerant, fanatical beliefs and goals deserve only one thing--death

and all of them(if possible)before any of us

You know, Bush told us that Iraq sent their chemical weapons stash to Syria 13 years ago. But yet the libs laughed at him and said he was just covering up for going into Iraq.

Thank you! I Remember  just before the war, the news reported  ships leaving Iraq  heading for Syria then silence.  The news kept claiming  that no wmd's were found and I told my husband  that is because  saddam. Sent them to Syria  on those ships.

I'm no expert on WMD, but there's no doubts in my mind that that was definitely a WMD attack. There's no other way to explain the dead and dying yet no physical injuries on their bodies.

And the children. My GOD! How could someone do that to innocent children. That's just sick. Babies shouldn't die due to military strikes against innocents. WTH did BABIES ever do to Assad?
