One of the strangest, saddest sagas in NFL history came to an end on Wednesday morning, as the Massachusetts Department of Corrections says Aaron Hernandez killed himself in his prison cell.
In a statement, the Massachusetts Department of Corrections outlined the event:
“On April 19, 2017, Aaron Hernandez was discovered hanged in his cell by corrections officers at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, Massachusetts at approximately 3:05 a.m., lifesaving techniques were attempted on Mr. Hernandez and he was transported to UMASS Leominster where he was pronounced dead at 4:07 a.m. by a physician at the hospital.
“Mr. Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population housing unit. Mr. Hernandez hanged himself utilizing a bed sheet that he attached to his cell window. Mr. Hernandez also attempted to block his door from the inside by jamming the door with various items. The Massachusetts State Police are on scene and the investigation continues. Mr. Hernandez’s next of kin have been notified.”
Hernandez leaves a daughter, 4-year old Avielle (she shares his November birthday), a fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, a mother and older brother.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
The part where the article starts with NHL stuff is just sensationalism. Who cares if he played football. He murdered people.
First, NFL, not NHL. It isn't sensationalism, he was a rags to riches story because of his talent and he threw it all away because he had that bad boy mentality.

And since he was in the midst of appealing his murder conviction, the has said they are vacating the conviction.
I cannot believe they still have that archaic law. It is absolutely ASSININE. He was found guilty by a jury of his peers. This will complicate any civil suits against his estate related to the murder, because now he is officially "innocent". Bull.

And from what I understand, without charges, now his pension from the NFL is intact and is untouchable from civil suits.

and some of the civil suits can't go forward. Luckily his daughter should inherit what is left.

I was listening to the news on the radio, and they reported that his lawyer doesn't think it was suicide.
Hmmm... I will have to hunt for a link later. ( I'm in the middle of making dinner.)
I thought he was alone, in a cell?
I wonder what his lawyer was thinking.
No, there is plenty of evidence that it was suicide including the cell door being jammed shut with objects. One can't do that from the outside. I really am beginning to think he did this so his daughter would be taken care of financially.

So what pension? hOw much could it possibly be? And if he didn't sign proper paperwork for it to go to his family then no one will get it.

I don't believe that some callous murderer all of the sudden gets a conscience about his kid. People like that think only of themselves.
I disagree, he loved his daughter, probably the only person he truly loved and she was in the court room for the not guilty verdict for the latest trial yesterday. Also, he wrote a note a few months ago about suicide.

Let's not turn this into some Noble Act. He was a thug and a murderer. An entitled baby who was granted gifts and talents in life and threw them down the drain to indulge in evil.

She's not the one claiming to know how he feels about his daughter. I happen to think he does love her as much as he is capable of it but it's an opinion, not fact.
