Wikipedia says her home in Cali was foreclosed in 2010 and she went to live with her MIL in the trailer. Then she was kicked out of the trailer park for her heavy partying lifestyle. It also said they are ruling it a suicide. (She suffered from depression and was unable to get work). Very sad.
At the age of 22 she was told she was washed up and her career was over. I can't imagine being that young and being told you are done working at the only thing you know how to do. So sad. There are many reasons parents should not push their children into showbusiness. The tragic stories like hers are perhaps the most important reasons. How could you risk doing that to your child? I hope she is at peace now.

The problem is, her parents never instilled anything else in her, and she never did anything but wallow in it.
Self pity will kill you.
She was a drug addict.
She could have done anything else with her life after acting.

A lot of child actors have problems as adults and a lot of times has parents more concerned about the child's career then the child him/herself. They are not mature enough to handle the fame nor the rejection on their own.

Exactly. Which is reason enough not to push a child into working IMHO. Also, a child should be allowed to be a child and not have to work.

She could have gotten help but no one could have made her. She had to help herself. Drug addicts don't get help for other people. Only when it's for themselves as When They're in the throes they don't care about anyone else. I have a family member in recovery and this is from him. Sad that she Didn't care about herself enough. I always thought she was adorable

It is sad, but she had the means to make something more out of herself. She could have gone to college, became a doctor, nurse, lawyer, or any number of things. Started a business or become an acting coach, etc. Instead she apparently just choose to throw away her life.
The problem is, her parents never instilled anything else in her, and she never did anything but wallow in it.
Self pity will kill you.

That isnt as easy as it sounds. Obviously.
Life isn't easy - but it's even harder when you make bad choices. When people have fickle careers - they need a backup plan. At 22, she could have done anything. Instead, she wallowed in self pity and ruined her life. Many child actors end up doing other things - construction, law, teaching.

Exactly! Saying life is "hard" and then making it harder for yourself is foolish beyond belief! SHe had resources and opportunities that many people don't have. Jodie Foster was a child star but then she choose to disappear for awhile and go to college and educate herself. And, some of them them resurrect their careers later. A lot of them don't but that doens't mean their life is over unless they choose to destroy it.
Melissa Francis is another who survived being a child star and went on to make a success of her life, despite having a crappy mother who stole her money.
So sad. She was so desperate when she appeared on Celebrity Fit Club a few years ago. She wasn't really even overweight, you could see it was an attempt at some type of comeback or to make money. She made an absolute fool of herself. Loved her as Joanie on Happy Days.
Sorry I'm tech challenged with my nook and figure how to post articles. They found her in her mil's trailer. It was reported that her and her husband lived at a motel 6 for awhile.
I think, given her history, it was an educated guess.
It is sad, wonder if she knew.

According to a report she most likely died from stage 4 cancer. No drugs were found.
According to reports "no ILLEGAL narcotics" were found at the residence. That doesnt' mean that no drugs were found. And ,the toxicology is still pending. There wasn't any report or comment on what if any drugs were in her system. The comment was about drugs at her Residence. Nothing illegal. That doesnt' rule out her having prescription drugs.

If she had stage 4 cancer, and she had been diagnosed, she had a butt load of drugs at her place.
And I don't fault anyone for that.

I realize that, I just meant the speculation that she died of a possible drug overdose.
She could have done so much more with her life than she actually did though. Life isn't over at 22. Life is just beginning then. Cancer likely would still have gotten her if that's what did her in, but she could have had a happier life between the end of "Joanie Loves Chachi", and the end of her time here on Earth.
Apparently there is way WAY more to her story... She died of cancer.
Open letter from Steve. (Erin Moran's Husband).
Erin and I met 4/22/1992 and parted ways 4/22/2017. We were planning to go to Thunder Over Louisville to celebrate.
She was feeling fine on our anniversary
11-23-2016. Maybe four or five days after we got back Erin woke up and had about a dime size blood stain on her pillowcase. She said
I think i bit my tongue. A couple days go by and
there's a bigger spot of blood. We get like 4 days into December, there's more blood. I get a flashlight and say let me look.
It was not her tongue it was her tonsil on the left side. I thought it was tonsillitis.
So we went to an ENT who said they wanted to biopsy it. It came back squamous cell carcinoma. She started radiation and chemo. Five days a week radiation and chemo only on Thursdays. We did that the whole time. It got so bad so fast. By the
middle of February, Erin could no longer speak
or eat or drink. She had a feeding tube implant and i feed her 6 to 8 times a day. She was still happy, she was active, she texted people on her phone all day. On the 21st she was having trouble
breathing. She woke up on the 22nd, she was not 100%.
She needed Kleenex, so i went to the store and came
back. She was there watching T.V in bed. I
laid down next to her held her right hand in my
left. I feel asleep woke up about a hour later
still holding her hand and she was gone, she was
just gone.. Norton Cancer Institute never said how bad it was.. The coroner told me it was really really bad. It had spread to her spleen, she had alot of fluid in her lungs and part of her brain was
infected. The coroner said even if she was in the hospital being pumped full of antibiotics she still would not of made it. He said it was the best that she was with me and went in her sleep.
So that's it.
PLEASE feel free to send the above to Any and ALL
news outlets The press has been relentless. they knock on the door constantly. Thank you Harrison County Sheriff's I Called last night and they came out ran them off got up this morning
they were all back sheriffs ran them all off again. the last time two cop cars ran off the last ones right before it got dark. we will see what tomorrow brings....
PEACE my friends.
An autopsy has revealed that Erin Moran “likely succumbed to complications of stage 4 cancer.”
“A joint investigation into Mrs. Moran’s death was conducted by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and the Harrison County Coroner’s Office. A subsequent autopsy revealed that Mrs. Moran likely succumbed to complications of stage 4 cancer,” Sheriff Rod Seelye said in a statement sent to Fox News.
Toxicology results are pending but no illegal narcotics were discovered at Moran’s Indiana residence, the statement revealed.
