So for the past few years the chipmunk population has exploded in my neighborhood. Not sure why the predators haven't gotten them, but whatever. Once the snow melted and I saw the damage they had done to my lawn under the snow I declared war. I don't want to kill them, just want to repel them. I researched. It seems that a mixture of water and garlic sprayed on the lawn will repel them. At the time I saw that as a solution it was raining so not a remedy at the time.
I was making dinner the other night, slicing garlic cloves and observed these rats outside my kitchen window. i sliced up a bunch more garlic and through some under my deck in the corner where I knew some were and then around the whole foundation and at my gutter downspouts. Guess what? I have not seen one chipmunk around my house since! Holy cow!

I had an idiot neighbor that thought he'd feed the squirrels. That shake away can works wonders. Shake it around the yard, trash cans, yard. Bam! Gone.
With our stacked stone walls, we now have snakes. They help keep the population down, although I did have a little varmint run across my feet the other day when I went out to pull weeds.

I would have, except it all happened so fast by the time I realized what happened, the pest was gone. Those things are fast. We had one in our garage last summer. I opened the door and zooooooooom! Finally I turned on the alarm to my car to scare it out.
