LOL, the Dems are going nuts on FB. So amusing. Had Hillary been elected she would have fired him Jan 20th. Trump waits until he does something wrong under his watch to fire him and the Dems claim he is doing so because Trump is under investigation. LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

President Trump is always transparent in his peculiar way. Even as he lies baldly, he reveals what is on the forefront of his mind. So it is in the brutal letter he had a top personal aide hand deliver to the FBI, firing director James Comey: “While I greatly appreciate you informing me on three separate occasions that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau.”
Of course, we do not know if Trump is or is not under investigation. We certainly cannot take Trump’s word for it. We do know for a fact that the FBI is looking into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and possible involvement — links, coordination, collusion — by Trump aides and associates. By pushing Comey out the door, and doing so on the preposterous pretext that the FBI director mishandled the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email server last July 5, Trump has plunged the country into nothing less than a constitutional crisis. How it is resolved will have profound implications for our future.
Editorial means it's the writers opinion so his opinion doesn't change mine. They've been searching for proof for how long now? It's pretty pathetic when they have to TRUMP up charges just to avoid answering to their own cheating of their own party.

Comey's unethical relationship with the media was enough that he deserved firing. He was doing the same thing with the Russia investigation that he did with the emails. He wanted to keep himself in the spotlight. FBI investigations that are not complete are not media fodder. And continuing to "investigate" to keep yourself relevant is self-aggrandizing and not professional.

Here are a few reasons, both stated and possible, Comey may have been canned:
He hurt the FBI's reputation
A memorandum prepared by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein recommending Comey's termination kicks off with the fact that "over the past year ... the FBI's reputation and credibility have suffered substantial damage, and it has affected the entire Department of Justice."
Rosenstein writes that Comey should not have given a news conference last July recommending that Clinton, who used a private email server while secretary of state, not face criminal charges. The deputy attorney general writes that Comey should have turned his findings over to federal prosecutors. He also takes issue with Comey's decision to send a letter just days before the November election revealing newly discovered Clinton emails. "When federal agents and prosecutors quietly open a criminal investigation, we are not concealing anything; we are simply following the longstanding policy that we refrain from publicizing non-public information," the letter states.
He broke with tradition
Rosenstein cites several attorneys general and other authorities who decried Comey's actions as a "departure from the department's widely respected, nonpartisan traditions." Rosenstein writes that "we should reject the departure and return to the traditions."
Trump doesn't like him
Simply judging from his tweets, the president and Comey have had a rocky relationship. As Axios laid out, Trump first criticized the director online in July after that fateful, aforementioned news conference. Trump used the hashtag #RiggedSystem. By October, when he was bringing attention to a new cache of Clinton emails, Trump loved him—but in November, when Comey said he hadn't actually found material that justified charges, the pendulum had swung again.
"You can't review 650,000 new emails in eight days. You can't do it, folks," Trump said at a rally. "Hillary Clinton is guilty. She knows it, the FBI knows it, the people know it."
Trump is embarrassed by him
The president recently accused his predecessor, Barack Obama, of wiretapping his phones during the campaign. Comey has shut down this allegation, explaining that Obama could not order a wiretap of anyone's phone unchecked.
"I have no information that supports those tweets, and we have looked carefully inside the FBI," Comey said in March. "The Department of Justice has asked me to share with you that the answer is the same for the Department of Justice and all its components. The department has no information that supports those tweets."
He knows something about Russia
Of course, the elephant in the room is the ongoing investigation into whether people associated with Trump's campaign had contact with Russia during the election. Comey confirmed the probe in March.
"We approach this work in an open-minded, independent way and our expert investigators will conclude that work as quickly as they can, but they will always do it well no matter how long that takes," he said, according to a transcript of his remarks. "I can promise you, we will follow the facts wherever they lead."
Clinton's running mate, Tim Kaine, picked up on this after news of Comey's firing Tuesday, tweeting, "Trump firing Comey shows how frightened the Admin is over Russia investigation."

The Russia thing is just getting ridiculous. The Russians did not decide our election, the American people did. Furthermore - we are not in the Cold War, anymore, and Russia is not an enemy. Finally, this "Russia" investigation comes out of illegal wiretapping of Trump tower.
Comey needed to be fired b/c instead of doing his damn job, he was obsessed with issues over the election- emails and Russia. And if Russia had anything to do with anything - that's the CIA's purview, not Comey's.

Comey deserved to be fired the day the man stood up and enumerated all the illegal wrongdoing of Hillary related to her emails and then said they were not recommending prosecution.

And seriously, the Dems have been calling for his head, and the minute he's actually fired, they lose it! Just goes to show you - it doesn't matter whether something is right or wrong, if Trump does it, they will hate it.

Flan, Hillary most likely would have fired him too, Trump's job is to do what's best for the country even if that includes firing someone who is incompetent for the job which he clearly was.
Trump was Comey's boss and Comey was not an elected official.
You are not Trump's boss, and Trump was elected.
I thought the POTUS worked for the people.

Ok - this is dumb, and you know it. Do you get to fire police officers, teachers, etc? There is a system - he was elected, and he can only be removed by impeachment and a guilty finding by Congress. Last I checked, you are not a member of Congress, let alone a majority of them.

The Russia investigation has been going on for months with no findings of wrongdoing. Comey told Trump there is nothing there and he is not under investigation, and yet leaks come out saying they are still investigating. So, either the FBI is lying to Trump or lying to the media - and either way, that deserves firing.

You can certainly tell him he is fired. Your question is so ridiculous.
Yeah really. Trump can fire and hire his own people. I know that only applies to Dems, like Clinton firing Sessions and Obama putting his own people in, but carry on with your dog and pony show as it is highly entertaining.

THIS! Completely agree.

Comey's testimony was the investigation is still ongoing. He would not comment on any individual though.

What have you seen about Comney telling Trump?
Well, I admit I am taking at face value the letter Trump sent to him firing him b/c knowing it would become public, I can't imagine him including a bald faced lie.
However, there is support for that in the fact that the entire wiretapping of Trump Tower was supposed to be directed at foreign individuals and not American citizens, and they have not been stupid enough to state that Trump is under investigation outright (let's not count "leaks") - only his associates.
This Russia thing is absolutely ridiculous and an absolute time of taxpayer money and government resources.
