Morning!

Senior awards, reception to follow. 

After about 2 hours they give you cake. 

After today, i have been to 40 of these, last award program I will ever have to sit through.

Monster decided we needed to start the day extra early, now he is being incredibly needy.

Morning, all. Another gorgeous start to the day here. Temp is already at 70 with a high nearing 90 for the day! Woohoo! I'm loving it. It's so nice to not have to bundle up in sweaters and coats, hats and mittens, etc. Working today but only half a day. Today is DGD's birthday. She's 14 and aloof. hahaha Weren't we all at that age.

Enjoy the cake!

We had a pretty good storm come through last night, and more are expected later in the day. #2 has developed a fear of thunder, ever since they had a bad storm come through and lost power at school. They later identified 7 tornadoes that resulted from that storm. But now he gets nervous. Ugh.

Working from home and will run to store at lunchtime and get an anniversary card for my DH. I also have to wrap gifts for a birthday party #2 is going to tomorrow. Boys will spend the night at grandma's tomorrow so DH & I can have a leisurely dinner out to celebrate our anniversary.

I guess we can add spider killer to my job duties. Coworker 2 offices down just yelled for me because there was a spider in her office. It has been dealt with.

Slow day at work...I think I need a nap. But I sold another 4 lipstick packages last night. :)

Is it bad that I'm going to pay someone to come to my house and straighten my hair? I literally cannot do it myself. It's too think and too long and my arms won't reach! :(

Just spent 2 hours watching 336 graduates sit on a gym floor and nearly 1 million in scholarships be awarded.

This is on top of the big ones already awarded on signing day and other banquets.

I bet there was over 3 MIL given out this year.

And my goodness, you could drown in the humidity in that gym.

The a/c is not working, I've sweated through my shirt, and just about every senior is going to have to have their gowns cleaned.

Do you have an old camera?

Try giving it to #2 and take him out to take pictures of the storms, lightning, clouds.

It may help him see there isn't anything to be afraid of and that weather is actually pretty cool.

We don't encourage him to go out in a thunderstorm because of the danger. I actually lost a colleague a few years ago when he was struck by lightening trying to get to his car. Our trees have been hit as well. Otherwise that would be a good idea!

I have to put together a (short) presentation speech
when I give out the scholarship from our Community
Association. I made enough money on the Chili Cook-
Off to fully fund the scholarship, and the girl who is
receiving it really, really deserves it. Honor Roll, PLUS
two after-school jobs PLUS full involvement in her
church and youth activities. I really admire her.

Momala, that's a great honor, after sitting through 2 hours of these speeches today, I can tell you the whole gathering appreciated the ones who got to the point quickly.


You know what I noticed today? The number of girls in panty hose. So surprised by it.
