Another cold day here.

DH turned the heat back on this morning.

AC one day, heat the next, AC, heat, AC, heat. Poor system will be throwing a tantrum soon.

On the up side, the weekend weather looks awesome.

This is our yearly family 4 day party. Lots of plans and activities will commence soon!

Hope everyone has a great day today!

This is my last week in an office...crycrycrycrycrycry

I've had an office for 25 years now.  I cannot imagine going to a "work station".  I am not going to handle this well.  I had 25 gold/platinum record plaques on my walls.  Took every single one of them to the dumpster and tossed them.  I have no where to hang them now.

What was I going to do with them?  I'm not hanging them in my house.

Honeys Mom,

We are going to an open floor plan.  For EVERYONE.  No offices for anyone anymore.  So, it's not just me.  Still sucks...

We will be moving from private offices to work stations as well. It was supposed to happen this year but now they've pushed it back to 2019 because they've underestimated the space required. (We are consolidating several locations into one). I am dreading it.

OK, I understand.  I wish companies would consider how detrimental the noise level is to productivity.  I live in a cube situation at work, and I am also challenged by sound - there's probably a medical term for it (but I don't know what it is, never been diagnosed).  Being exposed to talk radio is enough to make me want to put a fist through a wall - silence is golden for me.  Hope that makes sense.

With that said, the only way I can cope at work and focus on tasks is to wear ear plugs.  Others wear the noise cancelling headsets or use music.  When anyone, manager or otherwise, wants to have a private conversation, we have to step outside.  It absolutely does NOT make sense to me, and I truly wish the powers that be could understand the damage they're doing to productivity by having this open arrangement. I feel your pain for sure, Ohfour...cry

FNW, there is research being done both ways (pro and con) - maybe you have time to gather the con's and talk them out of it?

I am the same way.  Even though I work for a music company, I cannot have music playing unless it is specifically to listen.

One of my "Stationmates" is a woman that I absolutely adore, has been here since the very first day the company was started.  She listens to AM preaching stations.  The preaching is bad enough, but the static makes me want to pull my hair out!

Rained all night, overcast and quiet.

Sorry, O4.

But, good news is that the bathroom remodel started today! TOTAL gut. It's going to be awesome though...:)

Deck is next. We are going to replace the deck and put a wood beam roof over it. And add a stone fireplace.

A regulation has come down from OFM or OPM or GSA or OMB or somewhere that requires a reduction in workspace.

Spent Saturday night in the ER. I have bronchitis and it's hanging on real good. My throat is so raw from all the coughing. ER doctor said I'm contagious as long as I have the congested cough. I most definitely do. Can't walk without my chest burning. I've never had bronchitis this bad. Hopefully, it doesn't turn to pneumonia.

DS is at grandma's, far away from my very contagious self. I hope DH doesn't get this. I tend to be the strong one and this crud has me knocked down.

Feel better, chef! Are you on antibiotics? Usually after 24 hours on antibiotics you are no longer contagious. I understand it's probably viral, but if it would prevent bacterial pneumonia if it remains in your lungs too long.

Not really.  They are Christian artists, some of which my grandkids will never hear of.    They're actually quite ugly, but in an office setting, they are perfect...

Well, they WERE.  They have been hauled off to the landfill now...

 I totally feel ya.

Been battling a bout of bronchitis myself.

Wheezing so loud any one in the room could hear it.

Take your meds, rest as much as possible.

I'll say a prayer for you.

This one is viral. I also have an UTI. The ER doctor prescribed antibiotics for that and said she picked one that would also be effective for the bronchitis if there's a bacterial component to it. I'm hoping it doesn't turn to pneumonia.

Thanks for the well-wishes, y'all :)

I don't think I'm even at the halfway mark to feeling better. My cough has morphed from congested barking seal into a deep half wheeze/half muffled sound. I don't know what to call it. I hope this doesn't turn into pneumonia. I don't want to call the hospital home for a few days.

Have you tried steam to help break up anything in your chest?

And look up breathing exercises, the ones used in the hospital to treat pneumonia. Start doing them now.

One big one I do, inhale a count of 5, then exhale until you just can not push anymore air out. 2-3 x a day.

It helps keep bronchitis from turning into pneumonia.

Warning, it'll hurt while doing it if you've been hacking a while.

But it works.
