It is also a beautiful warm day here in the heartland. Temp in the upper 80's this afternoon.
Our gardens look wonderful. Everything is up and doing great. Will have beans, zucchini, cucumbers, and tomatoes coming out of our ears in a few weeks. I can't believe it is June! By mid July we will be swimming in fresh veggies.
I really did cut down on flower pots this year. There are only 13 out there.
Usually I have about 20 to 25. Plus three long beds. Trimmed those way back as well.
DH is fishing this morning. I'm enjoying a very lazy morning. Needed a very lazy morning.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Will watch for news of new baby, FWM. :)

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.

No word yet. If I don't hear anything by 6 or so, I'll text Conor for an update.
(I don't want to be a pest, if you know what I mean.)
LOL you have so much self control! I would be at the hospital.
I was in labor for 23 hours with Conor. First babies can take a while.
(I fact that has totally escaped Wayne. He wanted to push dinner time up to 3pm. I asked him, "Why? There's only a 50-50 chance that she'll be born today? She might wait until the wee hours of the morning!"
No way do I want to hang out in the waiting room of a hospital.
I'm happy to wait, in the comfort of my own home.
Not to mention...we are taking care of the granddoggies. Mere is up with Ares and Duchess, as we speak.

Meanwhile, it's raining pretty good here, some thunder.
It's actually really nice.

Have to say, I would be at the hospital too even if I had to wait 100 hours and had no place to sit. I wouldn't miss it for the world and couldn't stand to be at home. Different strokes tho. When I was in labor I had half a dozen people in the waiting room.

Out of all the lies I have told, "just kidding" is my favorite !
Jessi had the epidural around 3 pm., and they started the potocin.
It's after 6, and she's only at 4 centimeters.
Cate might wait, until after midnight, the way things are going.
No, I don't feel guilty, for waiting at home. We live 10 minutes away from the hospital.
We have our pets, and their pets, to look after.
We can't do anything for them, if we are there.
We can help them more, by sticking close to home, for now.
(And really? I forbid our parents to hang out in the waiting room, when I was in labor. We asked them to stay home, until the baby was born. Why should more folks be uncomfortable, and miserable? I didn't want that, for my parents, or Wayne's parents. They listened. It was all good.)
4 centimeters? Yep, this could be awhile. Awwww I can totally understand your being at home since you're only 10 minutes from them. Watching the furbabies is important.

Keep us posted. (I know you will)
Thanks, FS!
There is no point pacing around in a waiting room.
Ares and Duchess need attention.
And, Conor doesn't need to be distracted, by folks in the waiting room. His place is with Jessi, and Baby Cate.
When my sister went into labor, my dad drove straight from Boston to Indianapolis. I got to the hospital at about 3pm on Friday afternoon, my nephew was born at 11 am Saturday. My sister and I lived 10 minutes apart and the hospital was between us. I left to let the dogs out and get snacks, but that was it.
Although my sisters pregnancy had special circumstances. I had to be there. I had to know she was ok.

Like WOW! Good for you, DG!
Do you honestly want to shame me....for not being at the hospital?
SERIOUSLY?
I DID NOT WANT, ANYONE BUT WAYNE WITH ME, WHEN I GAVE BIRTH.
I sure as hell, didn't want Wayne to have to run out on me, and give updates, to the people in the waiting room.
He didn't have to. Our parents respected our wishes, and Wayne didn't have to deal with that stress.
Saying what we did or would do is not shaming you or anyone else.
Geez.

I didn't ask anyone to be there or not to be there.
It was their choice.
I can only hope I'm able to be there if and when I have grand babies.
As for giving updates, the nurse would do that for us.

Nice try, Lily.
I'm not buying it...for a minute.
Well, that's your weight to carry if you choose.

Am I?
Maybe, Lily.
If I am, I'm sorry.
But given some of the other comments, I don't think so.
I'm sorry I started this thread.
I thought it was going to be a happy one.
And now, given some of the replies, I'm just sad.
I guess I will just keep praying for a happy delivery.
Thank you, for your continued prayers for Jessi and Cate.
Great. Now you're sulking.

And it WAS a happy thread until you got offended by others sharing their happy moments of childbirth.

OK like IKWTDS said, EVERYONE TAKE A BREATH! Tensions and worry are high right now. A miracle is about to happen. A new life is going to enter the world. Let's all concentrate on that.
