A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
Good morning, y'all. It's 71* right now with a high of 101* expected. Let the steam bath begin. Thankfully I'll be at work through the worst of it (afternoon, early evening) in the AC.
Since we re landscaped the yard last month, we still have to water every day. That is BRUTAL. I had to do it for the first time yesterday. Thought I was going to die. I think I will wait until later in the evening today. Once the sun goes down and its about 2 degrees cooler...

Ohfour, the best time to water is very early in the morning or after the sun goes down. Watering during the afternoon will damage and burn the vegetation you're watering. The sun is just too hot then.
When my landscaping was new I would water every 2-3 days. I used one of those overhead oscillating thingys that go back and forth and would leave it on each area for an hour. Trees such as crepe myrtles would get a slow drip for 1-2 hours to ensure water got down to the roots. I watered during the day when I was home. Since I left it for an hour in each area, I wasn't out dragging it every 15 minutes. The hardest part was planning my pool time around it so I didn't have to go in the front in my bathing suit. LOL
We had the back planted in August and then suffered a drought so I was out there every 2-3 days dragging the house/sprinkler around. We had the front planted in Spring and I did the same thing. I also use a rain gauge to measure the amount the plants are actually getting. They need 1 " per week. The back is on their 3 year and front on their 2nd, and I still supplement by sprinkling if we don't get enough rain. My DH thinks I'm crazy, but the yard looks great and I haven't lost anything (except a couple trees in the front but they were dormant when planted and after a season we learned they just never recovered from winter at the nursery and the landscaper replaced them).
