The boys' last day of school is Friday. This week pretty much is a waste, although the kids are having a blast.
My mom was going through her "stuff" (they had their basement finished so she's organizing) and found a typewriter that belonged to my father when he was a boy. I learned how to type on it when I was 7 and #2 has shown an interest in learning how to type. I googled it and it goes for over $200 these days. Anyway, I tape the keys so you can't see them and use an instructional book to look at while learning. I will begin giving lessons this summer.
He went on TV, did an interview and told everyone he was an illegal immigrant.
Also - there is an outstanding warrant for his arrest stemming from check theft back in 2014. He was ordered to appear in Court over the complaint and failed to show up.

Sooo....you know we are having work done on the bathroom...but G keeps adding stuff for the contractor to do..so yesterday, the dining room (walls, ceiling, chair rail, base boards, crown molding) all got painted. And they painted the ceiling in the kitchen. In addition to painting the bathroom, linen closet, and installing crown molding and baseboards.
This morning as I was leaving for work, I opened my freezer to get something for lunch. In the ice try was a beer that had exploded all over my freezer. Seriously? So I texted the contractor and told him. I really wasn't mad about the beer, but that they forgot it and it busted.
He is LIVID. I think someone is going to lose their job today. I didn't mean for that to happen.

The only long break the kids get during the school year is at Christmas. Otherwise it's just a day here and a day there.
This year they lost some of those occasional days off due to storms. The kids would rather have the long summer break then the extra days off.
Besides, a lot of kids here work on their family farms.

Yeah, when I talked to G a bit ago, he could tell I was anxious about something. I don't like to worry him when he is gone. But he KNEW something wasn't right. I just got a call from the builder alleviating my concerns. G called him. He takes care of me no matter how far away.

When I was going to school in So. California school ended the 2nd week of June and didn't start again till the 2nd week of September.
I seem to remember going back Tuesday after Labor Day. But it did seem like we had a longer summer than the boys have today. They get out Friday and go back the week before Labor Day. This is the new. So next year they'll get out a week earlier.
My memory may be off a little. I do remember getting out the 2nd week of June though. It does seem like summer vacation is getting shorter. Here they get out the 3rd week of may and start now the first week of august. It use to be the 3rd week of august when my children were in school.
