I love small town parades! Our town has one, but I haven't gone. It's far too hot for me. I do attend the Christmas parade held the day after Thanksgiving.
6 of us grilling and swimming, drinking wine spritzers, and relaxing! Got the yard ready, salads are done, london broil marinating, American flag s'mores dip ready to pop in the oven...fireworks standing by. Let freedom ring!
We'll grill some steaks later then watch fireworks.

A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
We have homemade potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, three bean salad, fried chicken, hamburgers and hotdogs for the grill again tonight. DH has already sampled the cherry pie.
We are hosting the neighborhood fireworks show tonight. The neighbor kids have already been over asking what time they can come tonight.
Invited the new neighbors this morning.
It's going to be a party kind of night. :)

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.

We usually take the motorcycle to squeeze in to a crowded lot somewhere to watch fireworks, but his peg broke and we're still waiting on the new one in the mail :(

Sold out of my bread & butter pickles, pickled
okra, and pickled onions! Replacements are now
simmering on the stove. Church behind us has a
fantastic fireworks extravaganza every year. We
have the perfect vantage point. Our back porch
is about 50 feet higher than the church, about
1/2 mile away, so we don't have to crane our
necks to see the pyrotechnics! I think next year
we'll invite the church members to come and picnic
on our back lawn, to have the perfect vantage point
4 day weeknd at an end for me. It was much needed. Miss everyone.
Not as far as I know. They do have get-togethers for certain holidays, but have not heard of any fire works display. I haven't been to any of their events simply because I went a couple of times and felt out of my depth as most attendees were branch managers, special advisors, tech reps, etc. All with a certain air...... Must be something that happens when a person leaves their own country.... LOL
