Wednesday! Getting closer to the weekend!

Morning all!

I have another what would you do situation. DD and I have noticed music coming from the neighbor's yard since Sunday afternoon. I don't remember hearing it yesterday when I left for work, but I made sure to pay attention today and it was still playing. It's loud enough to hear across the street. This is very unusual for them. Also, they come and go a lot. All day long. I haven't noticed any activity this week. No lights in the house either. Dog not barking. Maybe they are on vacation? I was thinking about asking DD to go over there later, not alone and knock on the door. Or maybe try to catch the next door neighbor who is friends with them. Or maybe call the police to check on them. What do you guys think?

Talk to the neighbor who is a friend first or if you can't get in touch with the friend call the PD and explain the situation.

Morning!

Is it outdoor music like a speaker or coming from the house? Wouldn't hurt to knock on the door and just say Hi to check on them.

The music is outside. Not sure if it's a speaker or a car.

Oh, I'd ask the cops to do a safety check.

I would've called the PD by now. If this is unusual behavior for them then this needs to be addressed sooner than later.

It could be that they are out of town and kept the music on to make it look like someone is home. Or there could be a problem. I think a safety check is in order unless you can get a hold of a friend/relative.

I would just go knock on the door before calling the PD.

That's a relief but I would still try to contact them and make sure they're ok.

Good morning!

Glad your neighbor is okay, SB.

It is HOT here! Heading for 104 degrees today. Ugh...

Staying in the house ALL afternoon. I'm just going to chill all day long.

We had hot dogs the other night. He made a pasta salad he is all proud of. I'm sure I'll see it again tonight.

I got a craving for cantaloupe! So, I got dressed and ran to a local produce store in this horrible humidity. UGH! But, it sure was worth the trip. This cantaloupe is the size of a small watermelon! Holy Cow! It was just $2. I also picked up some sweet cherries that were just $1.49 /lb (usually $2.99 or more in stores), some organic bananas for $0.19 and three bunches of scallions for $1. I feel like I hit the jackpot! Can't wait to slice open that cantaloupe. I'm letting it chill in the fridge for now.

I came home an hour ago to finish up the work day here. Have I said lately how much I love my job?

I didn't need any veggies but I can't wait to go back to get some when I do. Their prices are ridiculously reasonable at this place. Even the locally produced milk is cheaper there.

Woohoo! I'm hearing thunder off in the distance. Checking the radar, it looks like a good thunder-boomer is heading my way! I sure hope it lasts long enough to cool off this humidity.

Scored a cast iron grill pan at goodwill. It needs some TLC. Tips on cleaning it up?

I've never had cast iron so I'm no help in how to clean it up.

Well, the storm fizzled out. Dagnabit. A lot of thunder and dark clouds but no rain at all. I'm bummed. It's still so freakin humid! I knew I should've bought a window AC unit or something for this summer. UGH!

Haven't tried it, but I've heard that putting it in
your oven on the self-cleaning cycle will get rid
of most of the crud on cast iron. Of course, you
will have to "season" it again, but that's not a
big deal.

I understand rubbing oil all over it and sticking it in a hot oven for an hour will do the trick.

It does.  I use olive oil.
