I had one when I was 10 or so. It looks the same. Monitoring it right now. If it's still bad tomorrow I will go to the walkin. Y'all please just say a prayer that it's not what I think it is...

would probably go to ER NOW--depending on the size of the spider, and whether you have particular allergies to the toxin or not, your reactions could be severe

around here, we take that sort of insect/bite seriously(especially children/allergics/elderly)

I'm next. She was dancing naked in her yard at night under the trees, doing shots ( which would deaden the pain of a bite) and is came down on a silk thread from a tree, the one the albino squirrel lives in ( yes O4 has and albino squirrel) and bit her butt!

On the top of my foot.  I figured out when it bit me.  It was Friday night.  I was on the couch in the living room...I remember thinking that it felt like something burned me.  Never crossed my mind that it was a spider.

you might want to make an effort to find the damn thing--use a stick or something--if was under the couch, tilt the couch backward(don't reach under it) and have a look underneath--they like the dark so look around the room thoroughly--under the cushions, etc.--you want to kill one of those

Oh, we vacuumed EVERYWHERE.  Moved all the furniture and vacuumed underneath and took all of the cushions off and vacuumed those as well as every crevice in the furniture...

I live in FL...the Australia of the North American Continent.

My friend found a Brown Recluse in her garage. She went to kill it and BAM out run hundreds of baby BRs. She IMMEDIATELY grabbed her kids, dog and packed bags. She called her landlord, who immediately called an exterminator, who tented the whole house.

We don't play around with brown recluse spiders. Now ask me how long it takes to get someone to get rid of a bear in your back yard or alligator who found his/her way into your retention pond?

That sounded more like a wolf spider, Ilumine. We get those and on occasion, I will find one in my house. They are very aggressive and too large to squash with a tissue.

Nah, I just remodeled the bathroom!!!!! We have a pest control company and they were out just a couple of weeks ago. Maybe I need to have G call them...

I'm not that worried about it. I don't know why, but I'm just not freaked out about it.

 Nope it was a BR.  It was next too/on top of her egg sac, that was pretty close to hatching, hence the escaping babies. She didn't try to attack my friend, she was just nesting near the outdoor toys that the kids used.

So, I have a HORRIBLE head and throat cold. I cant talk, I can't swallow, and I feel like my entire head is full of mucas that I cannot get rid of. Its horrible. So I went back to the walkin. Saw the same dr. She said that everything in my body is fighting the spider bite and that its very common for people to get other illnesses fighting off a BR bite since my body is focued on the more dangerous attack. UGH!!!!!!!

Ohfour ~ glad to hear you are healing, albeit
slowly. Keep on chugging.

I, too, got bitten, but have no idea what is
was. Made my foot swell up with one entire
blister. Dr. took a swab to have it cultured.
It's turned into a staph infection. Big ammo
antibiotics, special cleanser, and NO sunlight
while I'm on the antibiotics. That puts the
kibosh on DH and me going fishing next week.

Hope nobody else gets bitten by any mean
little critters!
