Good morning! The heat has finally broken here. It's 61* right now with a high of 77*. We are under total cloud cover. The humidity is 96%! UGH! It doesn't feel humid though. It was nice sleeping last night.
Not happy. Lowe's delivered. Dropped oven off. Took old one. And left. I asked two Lowe's people if installation was included and they confirmed it was. Said if I buy the kit with it, they install. Nope. That requires a certified gas installer. Fvckers left the appliance in the middle of my kitchen. They did take it out of the box. They were going to leave it in the garage.
I know. I have had the worst luck with kitchen appliances. We've lived here 11 years and this is my third range. The last one was about 5 or 6 years old and broke twice. The original was fine, but the microwave went out so we decided to replace range and dishwasher at the same time. I'm on my third dishwasher, too, the previous POS broke last year after 4 or 5 years.
Awww FNW ~ sorry you're having such a hard time
with your kitchen appliances.
When we replaced our oven with a Samsung, we had
to buy a "conversion" kit for the jets. It comes set up
for natural gas - out here in the country everyone uses
propane. The Lowe's delivery men were qualified to
change out the jets, which they did in a very timely and
professional manner. Don't know why your Lowe's
people said you had to have a certified gas installer.
I ordered on-line. I chatted with a rep and they assured me they would install it. But unlike the home depot website, there was no place to order installation, which is why I confirmed. Then the zip code was incorrect so I never got a confirmation within 24 hours of ordering that there would be a delivery date, so I called them. I was on the phone with them for 90 minutes. I had to cancel and re-order. At that time I again asked if this included installation and was told that because I ordered the installation kit, they would be installing it. Today the delivery guy told me Lowe's contracts with Michael & Sons for gas appliances and they do not do it. And Lowe's charges an additional $300-$400 for installation.
