Waiting on my cupcakes to cook. The Women's Ministry at my Church is having a cupcake competition tonight. I've adapted the peanut butter cheesecake with a brownie crust that I make and is a hit into cupcakes. I'll be happy if my adaption works.
Prayers for a safe weekend for everyone in the storms path.

I see Harvey is now a Cat 3. Stay safe in the golf area, peeps!
I'm sitting in my car, A/C on, and a sleeping 2 year old monster crab.. 😏
Hope he's in a better mood when he wakes up.
I'm to old for the fight.😁

Do you see a theme?
Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
The wind has been picking up for the past
five hours, and now it is starting to rain.
Not hard, but we know what is in store for
us.
Lots of water (and adult beverages) on hand;
plus two bathtubs full of water, so we can
flush even if the water company is shut down.
(That's happened before.)
Refrigerator and freezer re-arranged so if the
power is out, we only have to open and grab,
and quickly shut the door.
Prissy-Butt (Pepper, my 23 y/o cat) is hiding
under our bed - she hates storms. We're
prepared. Now it's just a matter of waiting
it out.
we're about 25 miles NNE of san antonio--on the eastern side of I-35--lots of wind so far but no rain as yet--all the vehicles are fueled-up--have two 4X4s in the driveway ready to go if necessary--plenty of water/batteries/rations, etc--unfortunately looks like storm will arrive here in darkness--definitely not the best time of the day--we'll see what happens--if you're in its path, remember snakes and be careful of them--wear boots if you're going outdoors, especially at night

Keep us updated as you can Burns. I know you will not sleep tonight so as long as you have power and internet, please post updates!

We're 26 miles SE of San Antonio proper - but
only a mile and a half from the Cibolo Creek
that is famous for flooding. Fortunately, we're
on the top of a hill, over 20 feet above flood
stage for the creek. Plus we have our boat
ready and waiting in case we need to rescue
idiots who try to cross the bridge after the
barricades have been put up.
My son just finished up his Air Force basic training. He was in San Antonio then went to Wichita falls, tx to Sheppard Air force base. He came home 2 weeks ago and now he is at Langley in Virginia. Some of his buddies are still at Lackland in San Antonio. So batten down the hatches we will be praying for you!

was there myself for a while though not with USAF--actually like virginia except the immediate DC area--has become much like detroit/chicago--an embarrassment for a national capitol

Sounds like it might get rough, praying for everyone.
Peace. Be still. In Jesus' name.
