Oh chicken and waffles the way I make it is awesome. It's really just like having an open-face hot chicken sandwich but with waffles instead of bread. It's one of my go-to comfort foods! Mmmmm

Good morning. On my way out the door to start the new job. Oh happy day! Have a great one!

Good luck with the new job!

Chicken and waffles don't sound good to me. Separately, yes. Although, throw on some gravy and I might be tempted....

First day of school today. Maybe I'll go get a mani/pedi on my lunch hour.

Chicken and waffles were strange to me, too, until I had them.

It's so good.

I like a good pepper gravy with mine, too.

Waffles ate nothing but fried bread.

Yup! And chocolate chips, or nuts, or fruit.

And it's yummy.

With a little whipped cream.

All those little pockets of syrup.

Or perhaps powdered sugar.

Did I mention they were good?

Cause they are.

Sorry, Lindley.

I didn't get waffles this morning, not sure when I'll pull out the waffle iron.

Me, too! Especially in the winter.

There's something very cozy about sausage gravy and biscuits on a cold night.

I might do waffles Wednesday.

Tonight it's leftovers from the reunion.

Soooo many leftovers.

I hope your first day at the new job went well, FS!

I made it to Springfield, MO.

Left at 5:05 am, got to my hotel at 3:45pm.

I will get up early, and head for home tomorrow.

I'm going to relax and watch The Tennis tonight.

I hope everyone had a good day.smile

Ya'll are having too much fun! I think I've gained 10 pounds just reading this thread.

First day went well. It was just orientation day, doing paperwork, finding our way around their multiple programs we'll need to use, etc. Tomorrow starts actual training. I won't see my home branch for the next three or four weeks between traveling for training and then there's a week and a half shadowing and training at another branch. I hate this part of banking. I'll be glad to settle in the end of Sept.

ETA:  My chicken and waffles is always with gravy. I dice up the breast meat chicken into the gravy then ladle some over a homemade waffle. Mmmmm

I usually do that, determined this year not to.  DD is old enough to stack it and she wants to earn money.  We will persevere and not have to buy wood for another year or so!

Thanks! And, thankfully, my phone is older and doesn't have auto correct. Or, if it does, I've never engaged it.

Kudos to her!!!

I miss having a wood fireplace / stove. I miss the smell and the warmth. I miss roasting marshmallows and hotdogs and corn on the cob. cry Oh well . . . life moves on.

Both. I have a blower on my fireplace. Many winter weekends the furnace doesn't kick on due to the fire burning.

Oh I've had a blower for my fireplace as well.
It worked Great! It raised the temperature of
the living room 20 degrees, the dining room by
15 degrees, and the kitchen and back bedroom
by 10 degrees; the 3 bedrooms upstairs were
20 degrees warmer when we used it. (square
shape cape cod house). Whoever designed it
sure was thinking!

We had a blower on our wood heater, I'd get fussed cause I'd lay in front of it with my feet in it.

It was the best way to read or do homework.

We have a blower on our gas fireplace. It does help warm up the place. I get too hot from it, so I keep it on low.

Wow, IKWTDS, that's a lot of wood!

I miss our wood burning stove. We had a blower on it too. Amazing heat. Sigh
