Happy birthday to your mom, FWM!

My mom's party is tonight, tomorrow is her 70th birthday. Mom and dad are leaving for Pennsylvania in the morning.

It's been rough keeping this party a secret, I think we've made her mad every day this week trying to keep her in the dark.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day.

It isn't sunny here. Wet and cold. Doing a BOD call in meeting right now. Have to bring DD to a hair appt in a few minutes then to Lowes to buy plumbing unclogging stuff. Sigh....

Are you sure it's still just a cold? Has it turned into a sinus infection?

I'm dealing with allergies right now. It gets better and then gets annoying again.

It's not really in my sinuses. It's in my throat and chest. It's not horribly bad, I can still function. Just drains me of energy.

Happy B-day to your mom, FWM! And to yours, Lily.

Sorry for those with allergies and virus's. Get better soon!

Cool and cloudy with a 70% chance of rain here today. Sweatshirt season for sure.

Trying to line up all the stuff that needs to be packed for our sisters quilting weekend next week.

What's at the top of everyone's list?

Booze of course.

The first one to use a seam ripper, has to buy a bottle of booze.

I think I'm going to really, really like this next weekend. biggrin

We have new renters! Put the ad in the local
paper (and their on-line version) on Thursday.
Wow! The power of the press! They move in
tomorrow.

Yay for new renters that hopefully are better than the last ones! If I had to rent I would want you to be my landlord.

First fire of the season cranking! I won't have to turn the heat on for another month at this rate.  Shall see.

Back from mom's party. She was surprised but I'm not really sure she was happy with it. Oh well.

Here's one of the centerpieces I did.

And here is mom and dad with her cake.

The centerpiece at her seat was different.

The cake is good!

Good evening, everyone! UGH! What a day! It was a beautiful day here but very windy and chilly. We were in the mid to upper 50s most of the day with no sunshine.

I worked this morning at the bank. It was just me and the mgr. At the end of the day, guess what happened . . . yep, a fourth time told about my perfume. OMG! This really is getting ridiculous. This time she had a copy of the employee handbook, which, by the way, did NOT say we couldn't wear it. It just said to not go crazy with it (so to speak). I again told the mgr it would be an added expense to me to find a body lotion that is unscented and doesn't give me a rash or that I'm allergic to. When she said that the co-worker was very bad yesterday, I explained that I did NOT spray myself. I also said that I think it's really unfair one person's "rights" are infringing on the "rights" of others. I asked if the co-worker even takes any meds to alleviate her so-called allergies. The mgr didn't know. I then told the mgr that had I known this was all going to be an issue, I may not have taken the job. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for trying to compromise but not to the point that all my rights are gone. With everything I tried to explain or say about the situation, it seemed the mgr just totally ignored it. It was like this co-worker is the be-all and end-all of that branch and that whatever she wants she apparently is going to get. OMG! So, I've decided that I'm just going to do my thing, let this co-worker walk all over everyone and when the opportunity arises to move on, I'll take it.

I went to look at this apartment today in the complex I want to go to. I have to say, I was slightly disappointed in the shape of the living room. It's really an odd shape and I think I can make it work. I tried to explain it to my DIL when they stopped in tonight but she seemed so negative. It is the same layout as the one I went to see there a couple months ago but this one is on the top floor rather than first floor. It's also in a much better location within the complex and closer to the laundry room. The carpeting is brand new, the bathroom is updated. But her negativity just got to me tonight. UGH! I took a friend with me to see it and she loved it. We spoke with one of the other tenants in that building and she said how much she loves it there and that the neighbors are awesome. It was so quiet in the apartment and even on a cloudy day, I didn't need to turn on the lights like I have to in this current apartment. So, I called the Manager and told him I'm definitely interested in the unit. We shall see how this goes. I'm going to try to round up my nephew and some of his muscular, construction-worker friends, to help with the move. I'm hoping he doesn't say no. If he does, I'm not sure how I'll get moved. lol

Find a non fragrances lotion. I can help you. You have no idea how many people get migraines to odors.

Actually, I do have an idea! I'm one of them. And just being non-fragrant isn't good enough for me. I have to not be allergic to its ingredients. It's definitely an imposition. I've used this lotion for 20 years because it's all I can wear that doesn't affect me or cause me migraines!

So tonight, Jojo wanted to watch E.T. She watched it for about 15 minutes and fell asleep, leaving me to cry by myself.

What lotion is it?  I've just never heard of lotion being that strong to bother someone else.

And since you've had so much difficulty finding a lotion that doesn't affect you or give you migraines, might your co-worker be having the same type of issue?

My lotion is made by the same company who manufactures my perfume so it's the same fragrance as that.

She might, but for me it's not just about the migraines. It's about being allergic to the ingredients. For her, it's a sensitivity to the fragrance(s), supposedly. I wish you all could be there as a fly on the wall to witness how it changes only when the boss is around. When the boss isn't there, she's fine. And, to me, what's even worse, is the boss's willingness to jump through hoops for this woman but not anyone else. She's not even willing to reach a compromise of sorts.

Like I said, I'll bide my time until I can transfer or retire in six months.

Beautiful, lily!

I like Trader Joe's A Midsummer Night's Cream, personally. It's fragrance free and does the job.
