Every mass shooting over last 20 years has one thing in common... and it's not guns
This country has a mental health crisis that people are calling a gun control problem
The media won't attack big pharma whose advertising funds 80-90% of their revenues.
Fact: At least 35 school shootings and/or school-related acts of violence have been committed by those taking or withdrawing from psychiatric drugs resulting in 169 wounded and 79 killed (in other school shootings, information about their drug use was never made public—neither confirming or refuting if they were under the influence of prescribed drugs). The most important fact about this list, is that these are only cases where the information about their psychiatric drug use was made public.
The below list includes individuals documented to have been under the influence of psychiatric drugs and not only includes mass shootings, but the use of knives, swords and bombs.
22 international drug regulatory agency warnings cite side effects including mania, violence, psychosis and even homicidal ideation.
The following is a republishing of an important article written by Dan Roberts......It reveals the real truth about mass shootings that bureaucrats and lawmakers are choosing to sweep under the rug: psychiatric drugs. If you want to know the real reason why mass shootings are taking place, this is the "inconvenient truth" the media won't cover.
Here's the full article by Dan Roberts:
Nearly every mass shooting incident in the last twenty years, and multiple other instances of suicide and isolated shootings all share one thing in common, and it's not the weapons used.
The overwhelming evidence points to the signal largest common factor in all of these incidents is the fact that all of the perpetrators were either actively taking powerful psychotropic drugs or had been at some point in the immediate past before they committed their crimes.
Multiple credible scientific studies going back more than a decade, as well as internal documents from certain pharmaceutical companies that suppressed the information show that SSRI drugs ( Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors ) have well known, but unreported side effects, including but not limited to suicide and other violent behavior. One need only Google relevant key words or phrases to see for themselves. www.ssristories.com is one popular site that has documented over 4500 " Mainstream Media " reported cases from around the World of aberrant or violent behavior by those taking these powerful drugs.
The following list of mass shooting perpetrators and the drugs they were taking or had been taking shortly before their horrific actions was compiled and published to Facebook by John Noveske, founder and owner of Noveske Rifleworks just days before he was mysteriously killed in a single car accident. Is there a link between Noveske's death and his "outting" of information numerous disparate parties would prefer to suppress, for a variety of reasons?
I leave that to the individual readers to decide. But there is most certainly a documented history of people who "knew too much" or were considered a "threat" dying under extraordinarily suspicious circumstances.
From Katherine Smith, a Tennessee DMV worker who was somehow involved with several 9/11 hijackers obtaining Tennessee Drivers Licenses, and was later found burned to death in her car, to Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Gary Webb, who exposed a CIA Operation in the 80's that resulted in the flooding of LA Streets with crack cocaine and was later found dead from two gunshot wounds to the head, but was officially ruled as a "suicide", to Frank Olson, a senior research micro biologist who was working on the CIA's mind control research program MKULTRA.
After Olson expressed his desire to leave the program, he was with a CIA agent in a New York hotel room, and is alleged to have committed "suicide" by throwing himself off the tenth floor balcony. In 1994, Olson's sons were successful in their efforts to have their fathers body exhumed and re examined in a second autopsy by James Starrs, Professor of Law and Forensic science at the National Law Center at George Washington University. Starr's team concluded that the blunt force trauma to the head and injury to the chest had not occurred during the fall but most likely in the room before the fall. The evidence was called "rankly and starkly suggestive of homicide." Based on his findings, in 1996 the Manhattan District Attorney opened a homicide investigation into Olson's death, but was unable to find enough evidence to bring charges.
As I said, I leave it to the individual readers to make up their own minds if Noveske suffered a similar fate. On to the list of mass shooters and the stark link to psychotropic drugs.
• Eric Harris age 17 (first on Zoloft then Luvox) and Dylan Klebold aged 18 (Columbine school shooting in Littleton, Colorado), killed 12 students and 1 teacher, and wounded 23 others, before killing themselves. Klebold's medical records have never been made available to the public.

Those focusing on further firearms bans or magazine restrictions are clearly focusing on the wrong issue and asking the wrong questions, either as a deliberate attempt to hide these links, or out of complete and utter ignorance.
Well, to be fair, people aren't randomly put on these drugs. They usually present with a problem, thus leading to the prescription for a drug. So the problem preceded the drug. And, people with mental health issues in the first place are going to be the ones presenting the symptoms to be prescribed these drugs. So, they ALREADY had mental health issues prior. So, blaming it on the drugs is like saying, only people with high blood pressure take blood pressure medicine therefore those medications cause high blood pressure.
However, having said that, i do not think we really know how some of these drugs affect young brains. And, there are people who could become violent and/or suicidal on these medications. OR, did they have these tendencies anyway even without the drugs? We may never know that.
I need my drugs so I hope a war on scrips isn't on the horizon. Sounds like a lot of these doctors are irresponsible by brushing off their patients side effects.

Some people suffer from side effects of their medication, or not taking them correctly and not communicating with their doctor or being truthful with them.
Have you ever listened to drug commercials on tv, or read ads for them?
It seems every single one has warnings of depression, increased suicidal thoughts or tendencies, and increase in other harmful thoughts or actions.
And it's for treating everything from eczema to sleep aids to bowl conditions to diabetes.
To me, it seems, sometimes, the cure can be worse the disease.

well, have been present for a couple of mass shootings over the years--in austin and in san antonio--the one in sa was not more than 20 meters from the shooter when he decided to let loose
to want to blame the increase in these events on the perpetrators being under the influence of narcotics(either in the moment or for considerable time prior)is about like saying lions might eat you but only if they're hungry
in any given population there will be a distinct group of crazies/killers/psychopaths--inevitable--as the size of the population increases so does the group of crazies--rather than look at the rise in medications prescribed over the last 20 years would consider instead what many see as the root cause--the internet, with its opportunity for instantaneous celebrity

I think it's more like saying the lion is more likely to kill you if you make it mad.
Meaning if the predisposition is already there, then magnifying it doesn't help.

But yeah, I agree with lily. All these drugs list side affects which include depression, suicidal and/or homicidal thoughts. I wish more attention was paid to this.
Dry skin? Take this drug and your skin will get better, but you're gonna want to kill someone.
Can't sleep? This drug will make you sleep, but you might drive your car and hit someone without knowing it.
Issues with crapping? This drug will stop/regulate it, but it depresses you to the point of suicide.
What is in the drugs that causes that extreme of a side effect?

I think there is a rise of EVIL. This isn't mental health. This is EVIL. We have removed most of the deterrents for evil. Shame, guilt, etc have been erased as we have taught human beings that such emotions are unneccessary. That there are no "bad " people or if you are bad, there is some excuse that gets you off the hook . We have removed God and poured sex and violence down the throats of our kids. We no longer require them to be of strong moral character. Now we only care if they are "happy" and as you know happiness is a very fleeting emotion. We have lost our sense of duty and obligation to our families, community and one another. And, we wonder why we have mass shootings but souless people who lack character and have no fear of God and choose to kill and annihilate.
Evil has been around since the fall of satan and his minions. I also believe the so called hippie revolution and drug culture and the "do your own thing" is partly responsible. Parents having babies while stoned/drunk birthing babies already addicted. etc, etc....
I don't even believe pot is all that innocent of a drug.
Some people suffer from side effects of their medication, or not taking them correctly and not communicating with their doctor or being truthful with them.
And a lot of people lie about their mental history and medications when applying for gun permits.

Mental illness is a problem on many fronts in this country.
You have people who are mentally ill that can function completely when properly medicated, but the stigma of mental illness keeps them from quiet about their condition. And it makes them want to deny any limitations at all even if some should be in place because they don't want to be treated different. I get that. But a person that requires medication to remain sane should not be having a gun.
Then there's the other end - the kind of mental illness that cannot really be controlled even with medications and doctors and society don't want to admit it. In this day and age, everyone is supposed to be treated equally, and saying some people should not be let loose in society is taboo. But some people should not be.

I think slapping the 'mental illness" label on evil isn't helping. And, so if a women who is taking medication for depression needs a gun because she is leaving her abusive boyfriend, now we want the gun shop to pull her medical records to see if she is on Lexapro?

A woman on medication for depression should not have a gun.

I'm with LGS, then again I'm a medicated gun owner. And I didn't have to lie on my app, they did a full background check including my mental health history.

We talk about stigmatizing mental health, then run around trying to blame anything and everything on depression, anxiety, etc. It's become the convenient answer because I guess maybe that gives us some hope to fix it rather than calling it what it is, which is evil. Evil cannot be rehabilitated. Evil needs to be conquered.
But, yeah if you want to go down this slippery slope and now snoop into medical records, doctors are going to find it much easier to say "no they shouldn't have a gun" than to say yes. What would be the upside to any doctor saying that a person is OK to have a gun? Seems like you are in favor of more onerous gun control to prevent law abiding Americans from buying and owning guns.

I'd sure as hell rather that than limit EVERYONE's right to a gun.
