Hi all. My son sent me his Air Force picture and it is actually his portrait on a canvas. It is a 12 x 16 canvas like you would do a painting on so it's about an inch thick. I bought a photo frame and took out the glass thinking it would fit. However naturally it does not! I tried to modify the frame, etc but couldn't get it to fit. I went to Pat Catan's and they didn't have any other options for me other than doing professional framing. But, really, i would like to frame it myself so has anyone done any framing who can give me some tips?
Pat Catan's is a big craft/hobby type store. The store just opened and the person helping me was pretty clueless. I will have to do some research online and go back in. I am pretty handy and can use power tools so I think this is something i can do.

You don't mat canvas. You mat prints to give them dimension, but canvas doesn't get matted.
