Recovering from a busy weekend. Friday I took my aunt to the casino. That woman could not lose. She is one lucky lady!
Saturday we drove out to Quantico so she could see her friend who is a Major in the marines. He took us to the USMC museum and shared some of the history and background of the USMC. Then we went on base and he gave us a tour. Saw where the Marine One helicopters are kept and maintained, the FBI Academy, etc. He took the boys off-roading in his Jeep on the base and ran us through the obstacle course and the bayonet course, and checked out the shooting ranges. Then back to his house where his friend from the Naval Academy (who became his BIL when he brought the guy home one year and he fell in love with his sister) and their brood of 5 kids came over and we all had dinner. 10 kids aged between 9 years and 14 months running amok and having the time of their lives. He also shared his weapon collection with the boys where they got to hold some really big knives and pretty heavy guns (unloaded, of course). #1 wasn't as interested as his brother was, who has always gone by the on-line name of "agent". So you can imagine how impressed #2 was with this man.
Spent some time at the dealership yesterday and came home with a new car. It has Wifi so the boys are happy. LOL
Yesterday the temps at this time was right at 80, today its 54.
Hope everyone has a nice day.

2017 strikes again! The a/c at my in-laws went out. Thankfully, summer is over so it's pleasant enough inside. FIL got a portable a/c unit to help keep the house cool. Between that and the fans, we're good. The Home Depot closest to the house didn't have the portable a/c FIL wanted so we had to drive out to one that did. On the drive there, a hearse got behind us. Given how 2017 has been going, I was disturbed.
My truck is fixed and running beautifully. FIL replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, cleaned the air intake, and cleaned out the fuel lines. He has a few more projects he will be undertaking on my truck. Works for me. I know he won't screw it up and it makes him happy to fix stuff.
My brand new baby already has 5900 miles
on it (from late July), and has had its first
oil change!!!!! And I'm averaging 38.9 mpg
per tankful! I think I'll keep a log of my
average mpg.
Audi Q7. DH will drive it mostly. My mom van is paid off so I'll hold on to it for awhile until I decide what I want. Probably a sedan of some persuasion. I'd like a convertible again, however.
