Best __________ I ever ate

Have you seen that on tv? I thought it might be fun here.

Fish. Best fish I ever ate was from the least likely of places, Shoneys. They had a baked fish that was tender, flacky, and perfectly seasoned and cooked. I loved it. Light and satisfying. All I ever added to it was some lemon.

Ok. Your turn.

Hijack - Did you realize the Alamo burned to the ground last year?  It just reopened a couple of weeks ago.  During the time it was closed, every employee continued to receive their paycheck, even though they were not working.  Now that is what I call a great employer!

I knew it burned, but I didn't know about the pay to the employees. That's extremely cool.

I have an unrenowned chef for a husband. That man can take anything I mention and make it better than anything I've ever had.

Fish - at the Senior Citizens' Center (where I
volunteer). Ordinary whitefish, but with a
crushed pecan breading - convection baked.
Prime Rib - Trail Riders in Floresville, TX. They
only serve it on Friday evening, but it's so
good I've asked for a to-go container of the
au jus that they serve with it.
Leg of Lamb - Grosvner House in London
Veal Cutlet - Bianchi & Margharita in NYC
Pizza - Staten Island ferry terminal in NYC
Manhattan Clam Chowder - Mamaroneck
High School cafeteria
Chicken Liver Pate - Bateau Mouche in Paris
(the dinner cruise around the Isle de
Paris)
Oysters - The Oyster Bar in Grand Central
terminal in NYC
Garlic Bread - The Washington Arms in
Mamaroneck, NY
Veggies - Tavern on the Green in NYC
Enchiladas - Alondra's in LaVernia, Texas
Biscuits - a fishing buddy of DH. He leaves a
sack of hot biscuits hanging on our door
when he knows we're in town. Lighter
than a feather!
Meatloaf - my wonderful Mother-in-law!
You finish your meal, and then go back
for seconds - not because you're hungry,
but because it tastes so darn good!!!!!
