DD was traveling to a town 2 hours away and her SUV broke down 15 miles out.
DH, being one armed (right arm in sling), jumped in my little car and raced to the rescue.
I jumped into our van, got gas and followed.
So, she is only a half hour behind her schedule. She has to be back to get her kids from school, then take them Christmas caroling afterwards, so she is on a tight schedule.
Why do things always go wrong during the holidays?
Oh, and I just have the binding to put on the last quilt! Yay me!
Storm moving in tomorrow. Yuck.

Thank you guys! This will be the first time in 10 years that I will have all my children and grandchildren together for Christmas. The added excitement is we just found out our expected grandbaby is a little boy💖 so I will have two of each.

I spent the day yesterday doing some decorating and then mid afternoon, spent four hours running around to five different stores. But, the good news is, I'm done, except I forgot milk. *hangs head*

FS, sometimes we all forget to get that one item, every single time.
Hey, IKWTDS, how's the vacation time going for you? Did the ex back off?
I've put my work laptop into time out, not booting up. Vaca is going nicely, relaxing.
The ex did back of and in fact took some great pics at DD's Holiday concert last night and sent them to me. That is his way of saying "I am not really a prick"

DS is lounging on my leg. He absolutely loves his Dream Tent. He piled all of his stuffed animals in it, curled up on top of the pile, and slept there all night.
I need to make some gift bags either today or tomorrow for stockings. DS will probably assist. He and I have a date on Friday to finish up Christmas shopping. He needs to shop for his gifts. He found a cute hammers for his grandpa (FIL) and great uncle (my uncle). The one for his grandpa says "grandpa always fixes things" and the one for his great uncle says "I love building memories with you" - both perfect because they both build stuff.
I love seeing the joy on his face. He's really good about not peeking. He's also good about not telling people what they got. Now to see if he will "help" open everyone's gifts again this year.
He's playing his Wobbly Worm game. It bonked him on the head a few minutes ago and he came running to me crying. I had to laugh when he opened that package. He ripped off the paper and exclaimed "WOBBLY WORM!!!!!!" real loud. Apparently, he's watched videos about it and recognized the packaging.
I explain to DS that if he peeks, he ruins his own surprise. If he doesn't care, then he doesn't care and I don't care either. He ended up with more than planned this year. Ah well. He won't mind.
I totally peeked when I was a kid. Spoilers don't bother me.
All the gifts are wrapped at our house, finally! Gads, what a job. And, sadly, I used a lot of gift bags. Each grand has a huge bag that is filled with their presents plus a quilt. Since we are all traveling to DS's for Christmas, I thought that the huge gift bags would be a good idea for the kids to bring all their gifts back.
Have no clue what DD is doing to get all of her kids stuff back home. Santa is visiting in Omaha for her family. The logistics are mind boggling for her and her DH.
Chef, so glad your little guy is making so many memories with family. He will cherish those memories later in life.

I love this too.
My uncle took him out for Christmas shopping on Monday just the two of them. They're buddies. Uncle loves that DS will rough house with him. They chase each other across the house. Uncle will eventually dump him on the couch and sit on him and bounce. He'll get up after a few bounces and DS will hop up and give chase as Uncle runs for his room. It's so funny to watch!

What a great story and memory for y'all. You updated your avatar! What a cutie pie. I really can't believe how big he's getting and how time is just flying by. Wow!
I used those boxes with pictures on them for everything but 3 things. Those got wrapped.
