Our Community Association got a check in the mail from Network for Good (NFG) for $500 (minus processing fee of $23) from an "anonymous" donor. In very small print above the numeric amount was text saying that if we cash this check, we agree to become part of NFG. Well, suspicious me went on-line and NFG appears to be a major fund-raising entity, that "helps" 501(C)3 (charitable) organizations raise money on an on-going basis.
Two days later, I open my e-mail, and lo and behold I have a solicitation from NFG. I never entered my name or e-mail address! I just looked at their website. Somehow, they captured my info, and I bet I get more and more solicitations from NFG and others!
We have an appointment with the State Attorney General this week, because of scams and other irregularities. Here's hoping we can detach ourselves from these scammers.
Another one out there from Netflix, which I do not have and have never used. Keeps insisting I need to update my account with them.... Give me a break.
