Mother of Boy Featured in 'Racist' H&M Ad Wants Everyone to Just 'Get Over It'

“[I] am the mum, and this is one of hundreds of outfits my son has modeled. Stop crying wolf all the time, [it’s] an unnecessary issue here. Get over it.. That’s my son, [I’ve] been to all photoshoots and this was not an exception. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about this… I really don’t understand but not [because I’m] choosing not to, but because it’s not my way of thinking. Sorry.”

International clothing brand H&M found itself in quite the quagmire over a children’s ad many deemed “racist.” But the kid’s mother thinks the controversy is entirely overblown.

Oh, please.  There is nothing racist about this.  People are idiots...

The only exception I take to her quote is that she felt the need to say 'sorry' at the end of it. She does not need to apologize nor should she.

All little kids love monkeys. When I first heard about this story I thought "those offended by this and crying out are the racist ones".

Well, in Japan it is offensive to place your chopsticks into the rice like that. It is considered a death threat or something.

Hahaha! No, it's NOT racist. And neither is the H & M ad. Race baiters see offense where there is none. I can think of a couple of message board veterans that would have a connipition fit over this.

When I first saw this story, I truly did not understand why it was being called racist

Because it's considered to racist to call a black person a monkey. It's also racist to associate black people with the jungle. Is my understanding, anyway.

I would buy that hoodie for DS. He is my little monkey. That hoodie could join the rest of his wild child attire.

I know that now, after reading the articles. But I truly did not know that before this incident.

OK, actually it is the way rice is presented to prisoners and/or the dead....

But, no, this Tee is not racist and I wonder where I could get one?

Oh, I bought it...for my Indian grandson. But we call him Chief. His daddy (100% Apache) calls him his jungle monkey.
