I know. What a relief.

I ordered two electric fireplaces while the power was out. DH & I went to Lowe's. LOL They are arriving today. One for living room and one for basement. I love my gas fireplace in the family room and thought it would be nice to have a little coziness elsewhere int he house. They were on sale....that's my excuse anyway.

I've always wanted an electric fireplace but have never had the room for it.

My parents have several, along with their gas burning fireplace. I always enjoyed them, and they do provide warmth.

Once the "rush" is over, I'm going to get a generator. Even if it just powers the HVAC, refrigerator, stove, hot water heater, and washer/dryer. Maybe a plug or two. I understand there is a transfer switch they can install so you can transfer power from one circuit to the other so it doesn't have to power all at the same time. Years ago I checked into a whole house generator and they estimated between $25-$30k. I think if I get a smaller one I can get it for much less. We have a place to put it next to the gas main, and routed it to the electrical wouldn't entail much. We learned that several of our neighbors did that after the derecho of 5 years ago.

$10-$15k installed depending on size of generator.

Yeah, the guy who came out last time didn't even look to see where the gas main was. I don't think he wanted the business.

Day 2 of the Blizzard of March, 2018. The wind has been absolutely miserable. 55 mph gusts and it's been continuous since yesterday morning around 1:30 in the morning. We had thunder, rain, sleet and snow for hours before it turned really ugly. Man, we are getting pounded.

FNW, love the idea of a gas fireplace. Good luck and hope all goes well for installation.

DH and I did enjoy a wonderful weekend. It was WARM!! 72 degrees! So darn nice! And, we came home to this blizzard. Shocking change, but it is March.

Got the baking done yesterday. Today will be a quilting day. Can't do anything else, might as well quilt.

Hope you all have a great day and stay safe all you northeasterners, you have another big storm coming your way. Ugh.

Morning.

Ya'll stay safe, again. It's been one storm after another this year.

Going for an echocardiogram in a bit. I'm sure that will lead to a stress test, and that will lead to a cath. Always does.

If it starts early enough I'll just stay home. Getting trapped on the hills here is no fun.

It's good to be back. I'm usually away from the boards on the weekends but was gone an extra day this weekend. Why? Because the front left tire on my truck split. Thank God I wasn't driving when it happened. We were going to replace the tires anyway once we got our tax refund since the tread was getting low but got them replaced today. I'm loving the smooth ride courtesy of new tires.

Glad you're safe, Chef.

FNW, glad you have a roof, again.

Ok. So I still have a heart. I know some have questioned if I did.

Go back to Dr for results Monday.

I swear, they really work and bleed that Medicare.

 No. Just an echocardiogram today.

I won't be surprised if I end up having one, though.

But it's been about 4 years since my last one, with a stent, it might be a good idea to make sure it's still doing its job.

 How long do stents last?

I don't know. Varies by user, I think.

More than a year after therapy, it may be a bit higher than with bare metal stents. Even though drug eluting stents have a higher re-obstruction rate, most studies go only four to five years after stenting and indicate that the risk of re-obstruction is generally about 1 to 2 percent for either type of stent.Sep 2, 2009

I've had my stent since 2006.
