Curious, how does the time change work with your hours. For example this weekend clocks are set ahead. If your normal schedule has you working to 7 a.m., do you need to work until 8? What time does the next shift start? And when we set the clocks back, do you get an hour's OT?

Yes, you work till 8. You might get an extra hour tacked on.
Overtime happens after you hit 40 hours.
And most of the time, you don't hit 40. The boss makes sure of it.

Jumping ahead an hour means you work an hour less.

My mother worked night shift for the PD. She worked until the next shift came, regardless. So she would work an hour less that night in Spring, and an hour longer in Fall. It evened out, and no OT.

Interesting. I would think that working for the PD is a union job and the union wouldn't allow the "no OT" thing.

Right, there is no overtime. She did not belong to a union. There was the police association. I remember one of her co-workers was in charge of it and she was busted for embezzling.

She was in charge of the purse. Stole thousands over the years and got caught finally. I remember meeting her at my mom's house. Mom used to throw police parties. I told mom to count the silver. LOL
