One of my coworkers is moaning because he just got a letter from HR saying the IRS is garnishing 25% of his pay until an IRS debt is paid. He's acting like it's a huge surprise. I'm sure there were several attempts to get him to pay before it came to this.
Great that you kept your cool during this bogus call. Seems the callers are really well-spoken and quite convincing. An expected call from a glib caller and usually people have already fallen halfway into the trap. Let us all remember to just stay cool when a weird call comes.
