What do you say to someone who thinks mental illness is all fake? Especially if this person is supposed to be your friend? This type of mentality beyond makes me upset and I never can come up with an on the spot argument.

I have two theories.
One, the person has no real experience with it. They don't understand the complexity of MI.
Or, the other, they've been inundated with so many claiming some form of MI, and they really just don't believe anyone.
Hopefully, it's the first.
I mean, I'd rather a person not have any experience with RA, at all.
Does that make sense?

I think Lily is spot on, especially with the first point, and then being inundated with the second point makes them feel compelled to argue.
