Gotta get a running start to the day.  First order of business - get my windshield repaired.

A passing truck threw a rock at my windshield resulting in a chip about the size of a golf ball.

Safelite's on-line quote says $94.99, so its not worth going through the insurance.

Fortunately, the chip is so far down in the corner, the wiper blades don't touch it, so I don't have to replace them.

Have a great start to the week !

I just had a chip repaired by Safelight (on Saturday) and went through the insurance. I only paid $30.00. It is worth checking into, mom. Last time (15 years ago) State Farm covered 100%. This year they told the guy to charge me $30.00.

Bummer about the windshield, Momala.

Good morning, everyone.

Hot here, too.

I don't have much planned for today, thank goodness.

Have a good day, my pretties!smile

Afternoon, everyone! Bummer about the windshield, momala. My windshield has a very tiny chip in it from a pebble a truck kicked up this past winter. I'm keeping an eye on it. So far, it's stable and not spreading.

It's such a gorgeous day here in my neck of the world. Temps are in the low 70s, there's a beautiful breeze blowing making the wind chimes I hung yesterday sing, the humidity is very low and the sun is playing peek-a-boo. Seems a perfect day following an even more perfect weekend. DGD, she's just 16, came to spend the weekend. We did our flower shopping and got all the pots hung along the railing of the balcony. We got the tables dressed and chair pads put on. Also did a few more planters around the balcony. We had so much fun doing it. While we were out there, the witch downstairs kept finding reasons to come out and glance up at us. DGD and I were giggling and totally ignoring her. After we got it all together, we just had to stay out there so we played some card games, sipped our iced tea and giggle lots more.

We also went through dresser drawers and containers I had of some clothing and jammies. She took a good bit of it. We also were organizing the spare room a bit more; emptied out four or five more boxes and got things put away and she took some of the stuff with her for her room. It was a productive, fun weekend.

Today, I'm still puttering around in the spare room boxing up a few things to put in the outside storage. Need to clean the bathroom and run the vacuum.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

It's beautiful here, too, today. I was exhausted this morning so I took a sick day. The boys' party yesterday was a success, but I didn't get to bed until after 11 and I just couldn't drag myself up at 5:30 am. So I took advantage of the weather and got a good dose of Vitamin D!

Hey Lindley! I found that blackout shades really help with naptimes....

Had to go rescue my neice.

She ran out of gas on the bypass.

Grabbed a burger.

A huge thunderstorm blew threw while we were eating.

Now we are home.

That neice.

I swear.

She's basically homeless, but by choice.

I want to shake some sense into her.

But I can't her listen or do.

Safelite is like a straw - it s**cks!

"We can repair chips and cracks up to six inches long..."
That's what their advertising says. My chip, which is
3 1/2 inches long is "too big to be repaired, you need
to replace the whole windshield."

So instead of a $94 repair, they want to do a $384
replacement. Not gonna happen. And my insurance
deductible is $500. I did some research, and the
San Antonio Safelite is rated either 5 stars, or 1 star.
Many of the 1 star reviews cited "bait and switch".
I can attest to that.

That really sucks.  My state mandates total windshield replacement and no deductible factored in.

My deductible is $250. I don't think it applies to windshield repairs. I was told years ago that the insurance co would rather pay for repair than replacement.

We have free glass in my state too.
