The children, who were discovered near the Missouri 92 Highway, passed away when paramedics arrived.
There were no signs of injury on the children and they were not found near any bodies of water, causing authorities to rule out death by drowning.
Authorities said the deaths were also not related to firearms or 'road-related issues'.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office does not suspect foul play but is still investigating the mysterious deaths, according to KCTV5.

'We are going to treat this investigation with the utmost priority to try to get those answers,' Captain Will Akin told the station.
'Not only for everyone who is watching right now, but also for the family. They need closure as well.'
This is seems very strange. I would think a snake bite would be readily apparent. Heat stroke seems possible, but we used to run outside all the time in all kinds of weather, are humans just more susceptible to weather now?
Maybe they ate some poison berries? But, still wouldn't there be some signs like rash or swelling?
I know I'm a lot more wimpy about the heat. I grew up without A/C in So. Cal until about high school, and managed just fine. But when I bought a house without when I was in my early 20's, I passed out. I was still young, so I can't blame it on age. Although based on the photo it doesn't look like the girls were living in luxury, they still may have had A/C. I think living in a climate controlled environment, we (general we) forget precautions that need to be taken when we are exposed to severe weather.
It has been in the above 90 her in Missouri plus high humidity, also if they live in a trailer with inadequate air cooling it's like a oven inside so it's possible that the girls could have heat stroke.
My little brother and sister had to be hospitalized as kids because they got into and ate an entire bottle of Flintstones vitamins and got iron poisoning. There were no outward signs of anything - my stepmother just caught them eating the vitamins and took them to the hospital.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
I hate to say it, but I won't be surprised if it turns out to be foul play.
