Do y'all like doing puzzles?  WE've started doing them as a family as we sit around and talk.  If you do, what theme and size do you like?

Also - would anyone be interested in a puzzle exchange?

I like them too. I like a good challenging puzzle. An exchange would be cool.

Yeah, we do them.

We usually take one on vacation, too.

We choose a puzzle based on a very specific criteria.

If we like it, we do it.

A puzzle exchange might be fun.

I remember the first big puzzle I ever did by myself. It was round and jelly beans. It was terrible! It's a wonder I still like puzzles.

Like this -

I like doing puzzles. I really enjoy Colin Thompson puzzles. They sell them on Amazon. So far I've done the Bizarre Bookshop, the Higgledy Piggledy house, the Crafters Cupboard and I did get my dad the Gardeners Cupboard for Xmas. They are fun!

The hardest puzzle I ever encountered
was round and yellow, ON BOTH SIDES!
It took forever to finish it.

I do the free puzzles on-line every day.

I just can't do puzzles. It makes me crazy! But kudos to those who have the patience for it!

Crosswords I love. Not so much the others although I did like jigsaw puzzles when I was younger.

I wonder how much time it took to complete the round and jelly bean puzzle Lawyer Lady mentioned. I clicked on the reference and just one look told me that it was definitely not for me. LOL

We always have jigsaw puzzles going when we are at the cottage. I do Sudoku all the time.

I like the USA Today crossword puzzles,
but they are so freakin' slow! Boatload
crosswords are just too easy.

On the jigsaw puzzles, I usually change
the number of pieces to 150 or 200, so
I can have a little challenge.

I absolutely love puzzles, I'm always working on one. I like huge puzzles, 3, 000 or larger. I've found an 18,000 piece online, still trying to figure out where I could put it together

18000?  Wow.  I think you need a basement with a train table.

Wanna do a puzzle haley from unc J.JPG

Eric wanting to crush Haley puzzle.JPG

So this is actually a very timely thread. DD is into puzzles and took the puzzle solving over at the cottage. Over the past two week various family units stayed at the cottage off and on, DD was the common denominator - the only one who stayed the entire time. So these pics my BIL took and made into meme's (apparently DD earned a rep for puzzle queen). The one trying to crush DD works for NASA!  LOL

I enjoy doing puzzles.

My Mom always seems to have one going, when I visit Ohio. Usually, 1000 pieces.

I can't set one up, at home.

TOO MANY HELPERS...of the cat variety.wink

Oh well...puzzle on, my pretties!smile

Meow! Times 7!

(Only six actually help, if you could call it that.)wink

Vette, Ravensburg makes a 40,320 piece panoramic Disney puzzle. It's on sale for prime day for $299.

Ravensburg makes a good puzzle.

Ok - so this puzzle thing has turned into a bit of an obsession in a very short amount of time. I'm doing about 3 puzzles a week - I'm still at the 300 to 500 piece level most of the time b/c I like to work them until it is done, so I need ones I can finish in a reasonable amount of time.

I saw a fact that said a 1000 piece puzzle takes 4 times as long to do as a 500 - the more pieces, it doesn't just double with doubling the numbers but gets exponentially bigger.

I've also become a puzzle snob. I do not like the thin, dusty cardboard puzzles you get at the dollar store - I like heft to my puzzle pieces, so my addiction is getting a tad expensive.

LL ~
You might want to look at
thejigsawpuzzle.com
You can change the size of
the puzzle (20-500 pieces),
and you can enlarge the
entire puzzle. You can also
change the shape of the
puzzle pieces.

My mom got the boys a puzzle along with a cloth that you work the puzzle on and then roll it up to move it. My father build a large wooden surface for it to sit on so if we need to move the puzzle, we can pick it up and relocate it without messing it up. It's easier than moving a card table.

DH does puzzles, sometimes we all help.

What brands do you like best? I've been sticking to the ravensburger puzzles just because I know the quality, but it'd be nice to find a variety.

I got this for DH for Christmas. It works very well. It's out of stock now but its $30-$40

I just did a Cardinal puzzle for Milton Bradley and I liked the quality of those pieces. They were big and thick.

I bought the Buffalo Games set of 8. It has a few 100 piece for Jojo, and then some bigger ones for me.
