Just saw an article on MSN (since removed - I wonder why?) that a group of senior citizens was ordered off their bus when they tried to register.
The "reason" given was that it (the bus) constituted election campaigning within the boundaries of the polling place. Well, use your common sense - let the bus unload its group of senior citizens, and then move off, rather than make the (disabled, or frail) seniors walk for blocks.
The race between Abrams and Kemp is neck-and-neck, and there appear to be over 50,000 "pending" voter registrations, with such minor discrepancies as a missing hyphen, and the majority of these registrations are in minority areas. And Kemp is in the position to hold up all these registrations.
It had nothing to do with registering to vote. Our registration deadline was October 9th. We are in early voting.
The PROBLEM with the bus is twofold - it was a political advertisement bus, for one, which is not allowed within so many feet of a polling place, and most importantly, it showed up on COUNTY property without permission, which is required to be non-partisan, and they were unknown people just stopping by to pick up people from the senior center. Yeah, let's just put grandma on a private bus with people we don't know.
But they have plenty of chances to vote. Every business day from now until election day.

Brian Kemp is an extremely good man. Stacey Abrams is a nut. This voter thing is all they have since he is Secretary of State. They blame him for purging the voter rolls in accordance with Georgia rules, and by a system which is similar to Ohio, and the Supreme Court upheld that this past June.
Lots of noise b/c they have nothing else on him, while she insults Georgia's industry, wants open borders and illegal aliens to vote, and is a socialist who is being backed by California Democrats.
And our voter registration numbers are UP.
And the rejection of ballots is because of a State law passed by the legislature that your name on the absentee ballot must exactly match that on your ID and the counties are following the law. The biggest county this is a problem in is Gwinnett, which has a large hispanic population, so it is one of the few counties with a bi-lingual ballot. Apparently, that makes the ballot too wordy and confusing. If you do any business with Hispanics, however, you will find very quickly that the names they use are rarely the entire ones on their ID, making it difficult to ascertain they are the same person. They normally have two given names, their father's name and their mother's name. That's FOUR names that might be on an ID, and they use variations of it as they feel like. So Maria Juanita Hernandez Gonzales may tell you her name is Maria Hernandez or Juanita Gonzales, and that creates a problem. I have to deal with this issue all the time when Hispanic people are buying and selling property. They tell me one name to put on a deed, and when I get their ID - it says something different. And they think it doesn't matter. It's a cultural difference.

And I guess my question would be - do voters have no responsibility to read their ballots and do them correctly? If they can't read or comprehend - go vote in person. We have weeks of voting here.

Abrams also wants to destroy Stone Mountain and remove all traces of the Civil War.

No. But if it isn't taught, all traces of it disappear, and people stop talking or knowing about it, it might as well have never happened.
And then we repeat it.

Trump made the claim here in NH that people were being bussed in from out of state to vote here. To date one person has been indicted who was bussed here, and one couple was found to have voted in both Mass and NH. NH is working hard to stop the out of staters from voting here. Slowly but surely we are making progress. Interesting that it isn't making national headlines.

I'm so fricking mad. I HATE dirty politics. Abrams keeps running and mailing ads that say Kemp "helped" a sexual predator get a massage license. Such frickin' bull. His office administratively issues licenses. He doesn't control who can and can't get a license - that's up to the Board of Massage Therapists, and they have made that very, very clear, but she keeps mailing the mailers and running the ads. She says he ignores sexual assault claims - he's the Secretary of State, not the police, not the licensing boards, he has NO control if they show eligible and pay for the license.
