I'm surprised no one has started the daily!

Well, we went to my cousin's wedding Saturday night.  What a fun time, although it was unlike any wedding I have ever been to.  Of course, it's been 20 years since I attended a wedding other than my own, so apparently things have changed.    It was more like a huge frat party, complete with shots of Petron taken by the bride & groom while up on the "alter" to make their marriage official.  Later, the members of the wedding party were drinking "chambongs".  At least that's what my cousin, the bride's father, told me they were called.   Wowser.

The venue was very nice and the food was fantastic, the booze was plentiful, and the company was wonderful, so it was a good night and good time.

PS:  Trudy!  It was in Alexandria at the Torpedo Factory....you and gg should think about it!

LOL! My sister in DC would love that! A piece of GG's tooth fell out. He isn't doing anything about it.

Wow - that sounds like a pretty intense wedding, FNW. I'm glad you guys had fun. What is a chambong? Chambord liquor and oils?

Glad it was a fun time, FNW.

Hey, ya'll.

Dad is taking mom for an MRI.

I'm still trying to get stuff done around the house.

Got to go leaf looking yesterday.

Happy Monday.

 What's the point in that?

I guess to get drunk faster? Wimps. Just drink the scotch or bourbon that was there for the taking.

FNW, sounds like a fun wedding!

We also attended a wedding this weekend. The booze flowed freely here as well. Every wedding we have attended in the last several years have had a lot of booze.

The chambong, ah no..

Cold and wet here today. And it's getting colder. Ugh, I'm not ready for winter to set in quite yet.

Hope everyone one is having a good day, even if it is a Monday. ;)

The drinking was not unusual, especially with our family. But there were other things...the Vodka shots during their wedding vows, the fact that the wedding party was 25 people and yet not an usher to be seen to walk anyone to their seats, the JOP was a friend of the couple's who was a veterinarian and opened the ceremony telling everyone about himself, the vows where the bride said she would give 51% (100% if need be) but the groom only promised 49%, etc., high-fiving each other up there, bride promising minimal sex, fist bumping the groomsmen as they walked the parents up, etc. The JOP walking up the aisle with the groom, arm in arm. Funny, cute, but very non traditional. I think our grandparents were probably rolling in their graves...

I think it's great to have fun during a wedding, but it seems the, for lack of a better word, reverence for the occasion has been lost.

Of course I'm old and set in my ways.

Good morning, my pretties!

Gosh, it's almost noon.

I hit the road at 6 am. and drove down to Fairfield, TX, where I met Jessi and Cate, and brought them back home.

They had a fun week in Houston, but they're glad to be back home.

I'm pooped.

I think I'll get loaf the rest of the day.wink

Have a good day, everyone!smile

I agree, lily.  My 80 year old father cringed a lot.   I just laughed at it all and tried to go with the flow..

Enjoy your day of "lazy", lol. And I can not imagine YOU being lazy.smile

I am on forced restrictions. Injured my left deltoid so severely, that the doctor and PT gave me orders to do nothing for two weeks. This is week two...it's killing me to do nothing.

Wow, Czech. Hope you're healed.

I put a roast in the oven around 11 this morning, and it smells so good.

But we are starving! LOL!

I would have a deer in the headlights look on my face if I went to a wedding such as that.  Then I go and enjoy the shots,  not the bong though.

So do I! Sounds like it will be a long road though. The swelling is finally starting to go down in the arm, a nerve is having a fit now... PT is helping though. Only four more weeks to go with the PT... or should I say the torture chamber. wink

On the up side, I get out of a lot of work. biggrin

Oh I am. DH won't let me do anything. And he let me hire someone to strip the upstairs bathroom in preparation for the remodel. That was awesome! He's taking this injury seriously. He's really worried I will loose permanent range of motion. I'm just hoping I can regain my range of motion. Yeah, the injury is that bad.

Good gracious, Czech! I am so sorry that this injury is so debilitating! Fingers crossed for a quick and comfortable recovery!

In other news, my dog continues to excel at his favourite hobby. Spending time at the vet.
