I had that panic about my brother's birthday gift (it's right after Christmas). I got him something that he probably already has, and he probably has it better. I'm such a crappy gift giver for him. I think I will just tell him that I am returning his gift on his behalf and sending him a gift card instead.
I used to be one of those shoppers out on Christmas Eve! I always waited, purposely, until then because then I didn't debate with myself on what to get for everyone. I just did it. Then, as years went by, I started shopping right after Christmas to get good sales. But, that has it's drawbacks as I would shop all year long and then, when it came time to wrap for the coming Christmas, I found I had purchased things two and three of the same. hahahaha
Thankfully, the grands are older now and just want money or gift cards. Easy Peasy. Done!
I just went out to do errands. Drove by the grocery store and just as I assumed it was a mad house. I need to pick up a few items for decorating the cookies but it can wait until later...much later.
Meeting a friend for apps and drinks mid afternoon. and then a party / open house tomorrow at another friends. So glad I have everything bought and wrapped. Although one more gift for DD coming - supposed to be delivered Monday. I hope it makes it.

Near full price offer on Mom's condo came in today. Less than a week on the market. Good news.
Weird mail I received from Amazon. You know how they have that charity thing going? Well I used to be on the BOD for the local girls softball team. Haven't been involved in years. I received a letter from Amazon about money they donated, they need to know where to send it to. I find that creepy that they could find out that I had a connection.

The sun bright and it's 45 with a real feel of 50.
Hopefully I won't need to go to a store for the next several days.
Happy Saturday.

Done with shopping. Going to look at Christmas lights when DH is off work. There's three awesome displays in the area that he'll enjoy.
Going to Benihana on Thursday to celebrate DH's and DS' birthdays. Still can't believe he's going to be 5. I showed DS a video of the chef cooking and he said he likes it. He said he's going to have the chicken and shrimp.
My TV just turned itself on. It's been acting weird. I guess it's time for a new one.

DH is much better and so far (knocking on wood) no one else has come down with the stomach bug. But there's still time.....
I'm done shopping but I have to wrap a book I bought for my mother for her birthday. I was hoping to read it first but still have about 70 pages to go and lost interest. So once I wrap that, and box up the fudge I made today for the neighbors, I will be done. Tomorrow the boys will make their annual fudge deliveries.
Wonderful time with my friend. She is DS' age. I've been her mentor for a long time and just landed her a job with my employer. They are paying for her to move back to this area. Her family and friends are all here. I gave her a present of all things New England. She lives in MD now and has wanted to come back for sometime. I am so touched by how much of an impact I made one her. I didn't know. Very humbling. And the most coincidental thing of all is we graduated from the same HS albeit 20 years apart.
I am just feeling very fulfilled tonight.

Took the daughter (14) of my new
tenant shopping, so she could get
a couple of things for her Dad,
without him knowing what they
were! She's a sweetheart, always
using "yes, Ma'am", and holding
doors. Her dad is doing a great
job with her. I'll get her a gift
certificate for a manicure. Her
nails are short, and I think
she'll like that.
All my shopping and wrapping
is done! Now we can just sit
back and relax.
Came home to find my brother had turned on his Christmas lights before leaving.
Caitlyn and I decorated his camper before he came in the other day.
There's a wreath on the trailer hitch, a light up flamingo with a Santa hat and scarf, and it's framed out with blinking lights.
It's a little redneck, but it's a camper.
I need some sleep.
