Short weeks really fry my brain. I ended up working a total of 8 hours yesterday on call so I'm really off mentally. Somehow I'm the only person on yesterday's call team that isn't off today. WTH? I'm a bit bitter. Lol. Have a good one all!

Wow, Trudy, that stinks to not have heat. Hope they get it fixed quick!

SB, yah, I agree with you, WTH...

LGS, work it girl! lol

IKWTDS, let the mess linger a bit so the memories can flow.

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas yesterday. Spent the morning watching the grand's open gifts at their home. Then off to church. Then we had Christmas dinner here with more gifts for the family.

We all lingered until after 8:00 last night when DD and her second DD traveled 90 miles to a motel in preparation for DGD's surgery this morning. Surgery was a success!

Good thing they left last night. We had ice and snow by 2:00 a.m. It's getting deeper too. We are expecting 8 to 12 inches...ugh.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

It's not Christmas unless someone is sick. Both Jojo and I have a nasty cold. Uggg. And I'm back at work today. Not fun.

I wouldn't mind if we had snow today, but none in the forecast.

DD, DS, and I went out for breakfast.  We paid the tab of a Vet there, he and DS had a nice convo about the Navy.  Then off to Lowes to buy shelving/racks for my third closet.  I need to start cleaning out two of my closets so my bathroom reno can start.   So excited.  But many this is going to be a huge clothes and shoe purge!

SB, that sucks. Hope you get a day off soon.

TRUDY, no heat? That sucks, too.

LL, sorry you and Jojo are sick.

LGS, have fun.

CZECH, it sounds like a wonderful day. Glad the surgery was a success.

IKWTDS, cleaning up is therapeutic. I'm doing the same thing.

One more Christmas in the history books. It was nice this year, but just seemed sad.

But, now, it's on to the new year, and prayerfully, it'll be a more peaceful year for all of us.

I’m thinking about taking all the decorations down starting tonight, I’m a little over Christmas this year.

Now everyone is dragging their feet over who will work new year's day. I'm going to do it. Nobody better ask me to do memorial day or the 4th of July.

I might be willing to do the 4th but then I'm done for the year. I did Christmas so they know it's not happening next year.

in our Yankee swap yesterday I chose a huge nemo fish balloon that is controlled with a remote, tank of helium gas came with it. Sonny is ignoring it but the corgi we are taking care of is scared of balloons so keep running to my room to hide. DS just took DD and her friend to the field at the local school to play with it. We shall see if it gets away from them. If it gets away I am sure on the local FB page there will be controversy over a 6' long clown fish stuck in a tree.

It would almost be worth it to see all the environmental snowflakes freak out over the balloon!

Send me the link if it happens.. biggrin

She COULD have had Irish twins like my MIL did. One in January, next in November of the same year.

Sixteen months apart isn't so bad....if your not the mother.

It's not bad at all, having them that close together.

Everyone assumed they were twins, some still do.

Spent the morning at The Pentagon. It was a beautiful day, even though it was a little chilly. Now I'm going to rest.

Well my two oldest sisters were exactly 11 months apart. My brother and other sister are a week short of one year apart.

Wait . . . *scratches head* wouldn't that be 5 years and 364 days apart?

I've been at les schwab for two hours now with no end in sight. I have a screw in one back tire and a nail in the other.

Here's to stale popcorn!

A little over 2 hours until DS is 5! FIVE! Can't believe it!

Debating staying up until the time he was actually born - 0032.

He made himself a friend at dinner tonight. We were sitting in an area that didn't have anyone else seated in it besides us. The kids ran up and down the area playing. I had to laugh. The other kid was a girl and she matched DS on every bit of roughness. They took turns seeing who could catch the other and pin them down. She pinned him to the ground every chance she got - which delighted him since he likes rough play. I couldn't help but wonder how many heads would explode if anyone saw the times when DS had her pinned down. Her parents poked their heads in and said it was just fine for them to play and warned us that their daughter is rough because she has an older brother. No worries! DS prefers rough play.

Yes, had it been the reverse there would have been hell to pay I'm sure.

We were watching a recruitment video the Marine Corps put out yesterday and they commented that the women needed to meet the same requirements as the men but they showed the men doing pushups then the women doing the wimpy female pushups and even the boys noticed...nope. the requirements are NOT the same. So not fair they said, and I have to agree. And why aren't the women required to shave their heads as well?

That should have been 1955 and 1956
