Just got back from the get together with my hiking club. Such great people. Today was 50's and our walk was along side the ocean for an hour. Then off to Brown's for our lunch. My haddock was great. Lots of laughs. We started planning out hikes for this year. Looking forward to all of them.

I'll have to look into that. I'm a little worried about my gym. A planet fitness has opened across the street. It's a lot cheaper and offers 24 hr access just like mine. I love the owner and the people at my gym, I'd hate to see the doors close. A guy I work with has a part time job at the new place and said he hasn't signed up any new people from my gym. He did say the other gym in town has had a ton of people leave. They are leaving the YMCA too.
Our 2018 and 2019 went out and came in with a bang. The good news is DGD is alive!
DGD, who just had surgery the day after Christmas, went into a post operative bleed about 10:30 last night. Called the ambulance at 11:00, they took her to the nearest hospital, who then called another ambulance to transfer her to a bigger hospital for emergency surgery. What a freaking nightmare for Mom and Dad.
I am not happy with a doctor who tells staff, in front of the mother, that the IV fluids will keep her alive for 6 hours. I came close to a panic attack and had to walk away. They should have given her a unit of blood. And they HAD a unit to hang, but didn't.
Anyway, they had her packed in ice, IV's in and flowing, and sent her on to the next hospital.
Thankfully, the bleeding had stopped when they got her to the next hospital and the emergency ENT surgeon decided to wait and see how she was doing at 6:00. Still stable and no further bleeding. She's been stable all day. They will discharge her this evening if she remains stable. Oh Lord, I feel so bad for DD and the fear/stress she is under. DGD's blood count remains low. I'm not sure she can endure another bleed.
Both sets of ambulance drivers broke through snowdrifts to get this child to the hospitals. They are one bunch of hero's.
Thankfully DS and his girlfriend were still here to help ferry everyone back and forth to and from hospitals and leave them a vehicle to come home.
It was 5:00 this morning before we had DS and girlfriend back home. Thankfully none of us had been drinking, so all could drive.
In the mean time, my car had two flat tires on the way back from the first hospital. I drove on them anyway. Tomorrow I can get them fixed. Thankful for having so many vehicles at times like this.
I sure hope you all had much better ending and beginning to the New Year.
I need that drink now..
Still have a bunch of kids though.

Update: Little Miss Bethany will remain hospitalized due to low hemoglobin and failure to drink fluids. She must remain near a hospital and living two hours away is too risky at this time.
DD remains highly stressed.
All prayers appreciated.

Czech ~
I'm about due for another donation of
platelets and red blood cells (I have a
LOT of iron in my blood). Do you need
me to do a directed donation? That's
where my donation is directly credited
to your GD's blood bank account.
I do apheresis five times a year, and
three of those donations also include
a unit of packed red blood cells. I'm
O+ CMV- - which means that my
blood is in demand by preemies, who
are not able to deal with the CMV
antibodies, which most typical people
have in their blood. Even if your GD
is not O+, my donation would be
credited to her account. PM if you
need me to work on this.

Thank you so much, Momala! I will ask if this needs to be done for her and will get back to you. You are one sweet lady!
