Started this group last night. I now have 51 members! We have heard back from many hospitals. knitted stuff is not accepted at most so we are changing gears to help those that need blankets and hats.
I am overwhelmed by the responses and many have volunteered to be admins on the group. Just WOW. Happy for the volunteers.

It's a nice gesture. Although my boys' NICU stay left me with some bad memories/experiences. Not the care the boys received, that was never an issue. It was the way I was treated. I wanted to spork a few of the bitches.
IKWTDS ~ What are some of the projects? And what are "approved" yarns? I should really get back to doing some crocheting.
The plan is to start with hats. Someone already sent me patterns. I would like to include matching blankets. It appears many nicus can no longer accept knitted items for use in the hospital but the can be given as a gift to the family.

First meeting is tomorrow morning. I have told the peeps I want to do a meet and greet and decide on the path forward including identifying those that can teach the rest of us how to knot/crochet and then decide on the patterns and color and yarn. Wish me luck!

It's great that you are doing that. Once word gets out people will start contacting you with requests. Those that receive will be so grateful.
