Speaking of shipping. One of the people in my apartment building has put up a little sign that says 'apartment #@ will take any packages for residents that are not home at the time of delivery'. WHAT??
The mail delivery guy actually left a package for me with a stranger because the stranger had a little note up?? Is that even legal? (I've filed a complaint).

I assume your Apt #? If so tell whoever did it that you are not accepting packages for other people. She/he may have written down the wrong #.

No, that's backwards. I am apartment #17. Apartment #2 put a sign in the window saying that they will take other people's mail. The mailman gave my package to #2 without authorization.

Did the neighbor give you the package? Sounds like a misguided attempt to help on their part, but the post office shouldn't just go along with it.
