Haven't had time to shower. Still in my PJs. Hazzard oh working from home but at least I get more sleep. Still working crazy hours but seem to be making headway.

Sunday all us siblings are meeting at Mom's condo to complete the clean out. Will be the last time there since closing is a week from today. It will be sad.

When we cleaned out my MIL's house before it closed, it was weird. Weird in that lamps and other small items would fall over on their own. A spirit clearly was not happy with us. Or me, apparently, as a lamp went flying towards me from across the room.

The realtor also indicated that the house was haunted. MIL's heavy, 12+ foot tall Christmas tree was in a storage bag. The tree, which is a struggle for anyone to move (she used to have her boy toy put it up for her every year) was removed from a shelf and found laying in the doorway on the third floor, blocking the entrance into that room.

I can't really say that day was sad for my SIL because she was just glad to have our help and to have everything out of the house and cleaned up. It was more of a relief for her and for DH. The sadness hit later and not a day goes by where all of us think of her.

Hey.

Cleaning out after a death is really hard.

My mawmaw refused to clean out pawpaw's things, so now, we have both their stuff to go through.

Their things are still where they put them.

Pawpaw's hat and jacket is still on the halltree.

Books on end tables.

Mawmaw's housecoat is still laying on her bed.

It's 73, and partly sunny.

Day 2 of Phase 1 of the SB Diet. Changes to my shopping list are intense. Didn't realize how much I relied on pre-packaged or pre-prepared foods. There are also a lot more raw vegetables in my fridge. Ick.

I'm trying to be creative with the food, especially as my nutritional-available-foods have been reduced with eliminating dairy. For breakfast I had 2 oz of cooked chicken breast and some cherry tomatoes. Gotta get better at breakfast.

Eww, breakfast sounds awful. Try an egg with onions and green or yellow peppers mixed in, low cal and yummy.

Chorizo is off plan for a while. I could throw in turkey bacon, though.

Turkey bacon is tolerable, but not my first choice, lol.

Good luck with your diet, Tig.

Yes, I use it all the time. It's great to mix in with taco meat for taco rice. Even the boys think it's real rice. Stand alone, it's not good. But mixed in with things in place of rice, it's good. But I use the frozen kind. I've tried the fresh stuff, and the texture isn't quite right. My mom bought some in the pantry goods and it looked so bad I couldn't even bring myself to open the bag. I've also made it myself from a fresh cauliflower head and still prefer the frozen already riced cauliflower.

That is so hard,  you might find that a lot  of  items  will  bring  up fond memories  of your  mom.  Hopefully  enough  to make you all smile

Snow flurries all day here, DH is out of town this week. The grandbaby peed himself on his face today while I was trying to change his diaper, keep forgetting to cover his little member.

Yes, having a cloth diaper in the right hand while peeling down the diaper with the left, and slipping the diaper in underneath before the old one is removed became automatic after being sprayed a time or two. Also, having the new one underneath before removing the old one made diaper changing quick. Have to be fast with boys!

It's supposed to get a lot colder today than it's been the last few days. The glimpse of Spring is over apparently.

I need to run to the store at lunchtime and pick up a sympathy card for my cousin. Her husband died suddenly and left the family destitute. I'm sending her a check, too, although I'm not sure it will help much. I guess every little bit will help in some way. They were just out here last fall, too. Quite sad.

Sorry for your loss, FNW.
It's great that you are including
a check to your cousin. There
are so many unexpected expenses
after a death.

Several of my friends sent checks
to me three and four months after
my first husband passed away.
You have no idea how much they
were appreciated at that time.

So sorry for your families loss, FNW. It is very kind to send a check during this time of great need. Flowers fade, but money helps pay the bills.
