A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
I think the mayo is a truly old school, southern thing.
I remember my great granny eating them.

Most likely things your grandmother ate during the depression to fill their belly. My dad would mix butter with either Kari syrup or pancake syrup and sop it with a piece of bread, cornbread crumbled into a glass of milk and toast topped with sugar with milk poured over it. Both my dad,mom and in laws were children during the depression. My mil remembered being hungry and at times only eating onion sandwiches.

My dad loves cornbread and milk.
No sugar, though.
